Have any of you got a vasectomy before and did you feel different as a man afterwards?
So I'm considering a vasectomy at the moment, and I know all about the medical and physiological side of it, but I'm wondering about the psychological side.

After the vasectomy did you feel any less of a man, or did you feel less potent how did it affect you mentally?
Also did you notice any change in your ejaculation? I know its not supposed to feel any different, but I don't know if in reality that is true.

Please be as honest as you can, if you'd rather discuss privately as issues you had after please feel free to DM me, I'm not on here a guge amount over the next couple of days as I'm running through some "stuff" but I'll try abd catch up when I can.
I appreciate your guys honesty on the subject.

Ladies please feel free to chime in if you partner had one and what his experience was after.

  • Yep... I have and no... I feel no different. You can totally get inside your own head though and panic but it's all psychosomatic. Right after mine I kept thinking about not being able to get hard again and actually willed myself into it for a week or two. The reality is that now I would never know I even had it. Hard-ons are the same, orgasms are the same, loads are the same. Just no babies!

  • Yeah I don't feel any less of a man. My orgasms are still as intense although I don't shoot as far. If I knew then what I know now I'd have had it before we had kids lol

    • What about it's consistency, I know this is a bit of a personal question but its probably the part that bothers me the most.

    • Seems to be the same only not as plentiful. She says it even tastes the same

    • Ok thanks, not to be crude but I have hyperspermia so a little less would be fine as long as it stays nice and thick 🤣

  • Never done, and partly hesitating due to the same reasons as you. I always compare it to a cop and his gun. Even if he never needed to pull the gun and shoot he’ll be perceived differently if everyone knew his pistol was filled with blanks and not real bullets.

Part of my masculinity is the _potential_ to make babies, needed at this stage or not. I prefer using condoms for the rest of my life to not burden my female partner with anticonception.

Just wanted to add this opinion in your quest for feedback.

  • This is my current dilemma lol.

on one side I have everything sorted legally for my daughter to get most stuff.

Its a complex thing as there are various properties involved and legal stuff around them lol.

I do however accept if I am in a serious relationship, then my partner may want some live baby batter injections (I know someone who would get it lol).

i am holding off for the minute as I may need to get someone pregnant in next couple years, depending how things evolve.

i have had chats to friends who have had the procedure and it does not have any impact, another mate had his done in Afghan and he’s fine, luckily he had some baby juice in his freezer just in case.

    • I mean I really don't want kids a certainly not at my age, but have considered getting some frozen just in case, although storage costs are pretty steep though.

    • Just get a milk carton or those make your own ice lolly things. Do some Spider-Man action in to each, then bang in the freezer, sorted 🙄

  • I got one. The only issue is I cum glitter, now.

  • I feel mostly the same. I enjoy sex a lot more because pregnancy is not a concern. Overall I see it as a boon. I am glad I got it when I did and the only thing I regret is not getting it earlier.

  • I have a friend who did. He said it was very simple and I don't think he had any changes or side effects

  • I got one and no difference.
