I use 'tranny' all the time, I think it's funny. The same way that like, black people use ngger. Though context and intent matters. Are you /trying/ to insult people? Then why use that word? What does 'tranny' mean to you? How are you defining 'insult'?
There are several problems with the attitude that pre-op transgirls aren't really transgirls, but rather just crossdressers -
The first is that it assumes that tgirls can just instantly get gender reassignment surgery from day 1.
The rules vary on where you live, but the hoops you have to jump through are unreal. Here you have to be out full time as a tgirl for 2 years before they'll even let you on a waiting list for surgery. And then you need to get 2 referrals from 2 different doctors. (In my case on other sides of the country!) It's like a job interview!
So, what, my identity isn't valid for around 4 years after I come out full time, and even then I have to get other peoples approval first? How is that a reasonable standard?
The other issue, is that GRS isn't the only thing tgirls do. I have tits! They're not implants, I grew these. HRT does all sorts of things to your body. Plus there's breast augmentation for those who need it, and facial feminisation. Tgirls aren't just dudes who've gone for one surgery and called it a day.
Transgenderism isn't analogous to crossdressing. Crossdressers are just... wearing clothes and playing a character. Transgenderism is changing your body and identity permanently. There's so much more to the differences than just GRS.
It seems that both are playing a role it’s just one takes it more seriously like jack black in his own films vs jack black in other peoples films
Weird analogy, but OK. Tgirls aren't playing a role, they're just being themselves. When I talked about 'playing a role', I was referring to like, drag queens, who are specifically performing.

My understanding is that all equipment is normal in a cross dresser but to be a transgender you would at least have to be taking breast growth hormones.
They think they have the best of both worlds that way... lol

When people say tranny they’re usually making fun or teasing so I think that’s why the word has a negative connotation.
