I had the cruelest ex one time who joked about being pregnant on April's fools, and she knew I was always one who didn't keep up with these types of things (I'm the type who tends to forget even when it's my birthday).
But as cruel as she was, I sort of fell in love with her on the spot when I didn't realize it was a joke. I was confused at first since we used protection every time but I conceived her as the mother of our future children, and I thought I should marry her immediately in spite of our turbulent relationship.
When she told me it was an April's fools joke tears started rolling down my eyes. I don't cry too often but I wasn't used to such an abrupt shift in my emotions from thinking she's going to be the future mother of our children to realizing it was all a joke. Then her sister scolded her at the restaurant (we were in a restaurant) and she stormed out and cried as she usually does.
But I think I fell in love with her on that spot even though I was contemplating breaking up with her. We got all the way to being engaged to be married before things went down the drain.
That's not the most direct answer to your Q since I used protection always before I got married. But maybe sorta. I found myself falling in love in ways that surprised me when I conceived of the woman next to me as the future mother of our children.

She was bipolar and prone to the most epic mood swings. Toxic rollercoaster relationship, you know. But I think as fucked up as it sounds, I fell for her at least halfway through that April Fool's joke. I got a glimpse of a dream and I loved the dream however briefly it lasted.
Yeah it feels great. Doubtful she will get pregnant because she is on the pill, but if she did we wouldn’t mind. We keep getting closer to our wedding date
