Question for people with adult children, would you or have you ever had sex with someone that is around your adult child's age?

Would that not seem weird if you had say a 23-year-old daughter but you were hooking up with a 21-year-old?

I know someone who is doing that right now.

I suppose it could happen the other way too, you could be the parent whose child is hooking up with someone your age.

If you are younger feel free to state if you would do it with someone who is your parent's age.

Well in sure a lot of the parents will have kids either pissed or grossed out by it but I'm neutral I suppose. Every once in a while I find a young person who IS mature enough to be taken seriously for a relationship but it's very rare. I think what makes it more creepy these days is the lack of maturity going on with young people. When you talk to many of them it's like you are still talking to pre pube kids. Sure they can be book smart but when it comes to life, when it comes to wisdom, when it comes to common sense, they're in twilight zone. They're so different from when I was growing up by and large. How can the generation coming up after me be so radically different? There's no sense of direction, duty, integrity, honor, ambition, etc. I saw a headline recently "40 is the new 25". Does that mean 21 is the new 10? I don't know but sure seems like it sometimes.

Such an awesome question. Ten years ago I would have said how bizarre it is to see a 50 year old man with a 25 year old girl. However here’s the part that you might find interesting (I’ll make it as short as possible). I am close to 50 and divorced my wife about three years ago who is the same age as I. When I decided to put myself out there for a potential relationship etc, I did not receive a single response from any woman even close to my own age. Most if not all were between 28 and 34. Since the separation I’ve dated these people in that age bracket simply because that’s who was interested. At first I thought we’d have zero in common, but aside from some pop cultural unawareness, we got along genuinely and I had a lot of fun in those few relationships. Now I would not be able to go quite as low as my daughter’s ages 18-23), I have much less of a problem with the girls I mentioned. If you’re both attracted to one another, or even love, I say go with it because happiness is so important…. And falling in love is a blessing.

Ever since my divorce I've been pretty regularly/frequently hooking up with a guy about a year younger than my son. I'd never seriously date a guy that much younger, but just hooking up is super hot and incredibly fun. Neither of us are interested in anything serious and no one in my family knows (or needs to know). It won't last forever, but I am finding it extremely enjoyable as of right now!

I don't think it is weird at all. My kids used to bring their friends around all of the time. There friends used to just come hang out and sometimes when my kids were not home they would hang out and wait for them to get back home. I have no issues with age because I have always had younger kids hanging out at the house. They say hey if they see me at the store and come hug me... It is normal for me...

Reality is that this is happening and has been happening for centuries all over the world. As long as they're two consenting adults, then it's nobody's business but their own. How anyone else feels is irrelevant. Age is a number.
