Why are sugar daddy relationships looked down on but friends with benefits arrangements aren't?

both are mainly about sex and usually someone is being used in the equation, so why is it wrong for a man to spend money on a woman if there is an exchange for money & company/sex but fwb/hook up buddies are so commonly accepted? I don't partake in either one but if I had to pick I'd rather be a sugar baby than have a regular friend with benefit. you're sleeping with a guy and getting nothing for it, at least get paid if you're gonna do it anyway right?

A FWB is an equal partnership; both people want and are getting the same thing: their sexual needs satisfied without having their emotions tied up. It only works with BOTH people want this, BTW, so in that case, no one is "giving up" anything.

If you have a "sugar daddy", you are essentially a personal whore. You are trading sex (with someone you don't really want to have sex with) for money or other material gain.

The difference should be obvious.

but both people agree to it equally so I still don't see a difference. the sugar daddy wants to give money, and the sugar baby wouldn't be having sex with the guy if she didn't want to make the trade off either so both people are getting what they want. it's kinda the same. just because money is involved doesn't make it better or worse

While I personally don't have a problem with prostitution (the Prohibition of prostitution is responsible for most of the related problems), society would disagree. Anyway, I think you DO see the difference, but you don't want to admit to yourself that a difference exists. Just my opinion.
