Professionally taken? Yes, if it's truly professional and not some cheesy franchise like "Glamour shots". That's a waste of money. She may as well have a friend take them.
If you can afford it, find a professional photographer who will photograph you in their studio. Ask to pay for their time so you can have all the images. Probably about $200/hour depending on your location.
Speaking for myself personally I don't really give a fuck about nudes. So if a girl got me that as my ONLY gift for a special day (like a birthday, Christmas or Valentines Day) I'd be kinda disappointed. If it was just a gift for no specific reason then I'd be okay with it.
