The base of the penis is not a straight vertical line down from the pubic bone, but rather a curve that turns inward toward the crotch. Thus the starting point of the base of the penis on the underside is further back from the head than the base on the topside. So the most anatomically accurate measurement of total penis length is taken from the side of the shaft, with the ruler pressed into the pelvic bone. 😉🍆
