I would ask for details, take notes, put those lessons into practice, and ask her how I was doing. I’d ask her every time until she told me she had never had better sex.

But I would NEVER saw anything like this to a partner. NEVER.
I don’t mind telling her what I like, directing her, teaching while we are doing it—but I always offer encouragement afterward, even if it was bad. I mean, I don’t (always) lie, but I always look for the affirming thing to say. That’s just the decent thing to do. If there was context, like I was sloppy setting a scene up or something I'd welcome the criticism. If that's where it starts and ends, well, maybe I should try harder with humiliation. Someone's getting locked outside without their clothes to ponder for a while.

For vanilla, that's unacceptable. You can say "hey, if you do this it would feel better", or if the other party asks about exes talk about it bluntly. Comparing to exes of your own volition is taboo, man or woman.
