I’ve never really “dated” traditionally, like not in the sense of asking a woman out to dinner or something. I usually would know them through work or a mutual friend, we’d encounter each other in group settings, go to bars, house parties, etc. Sometimes we’d just kind of randomly hook up when we were drinking, other times we’d kind of just get the vibes from each other and we’d get ourselves alone eventually, but it was just never like a “I’ll pick you up at 7:00 and we’ll go to that new Italian restaurant” kind of thing. It was all “college dating”, really. Then it would either last and turn into a relationship, or it would fizzle out and run its course.

With my lady now…she started coming into the bar I was a bouncer at when she first moved to town, with her sister and her sister’s friend who went to college there already. The short version of the story is we met, kind of instantly vibed, but she was back and forth from where she was originally from because she was still moving. Plus the sister’s friend liked me and was kind of interfering in us hanging out alone, lmao. So it was like two weeks before we got alone, and we didn’t really wait much longer than that, haha

I wouldn’t say I “waited” or that I was made to wait it happened at the right time. There is no point rushing into sex assuminng you are actually looking for a relationship at all. This just confuses the situation and compounds any issue you might discover after. I’d much rather sex when it’s anticipated and urgent with the knowledge that there is ar least an idea of a deeper connection with the woman. If it’s just about sex then we may as well be strangers and it be about sexual gratification.

Maybe I ask where you live. I never get THAT lucky. The one girl at my work who actually did it, said she wouldn't do it again. But I still don't think it's that common where I live, and it's pretty frowned upon in the U. S. My company made us disclose if we're even DATING another co-worker. A lot of people are reluctant to do it, because it causes workplace drama. It's employers that started stigmatizing it

@KostasKouvalis I’m in the U. S too. Yes it’s greatly frowned upon. The thing is, people don’t always go around telling people. Regardless of what they say, they can’t make you tell them you’re in a relationship and it’s hard to prove something like that as well. It’s definitely stigmatized, when I first started talking to him I told him I didn’t have relationships with coworkers. 3 weeks later I was in his bed 🤷‍♀️. Shit happens. A best friend of mine was a middle school art teacher. There were like 4 teachers that slept with the same gym teacher and they had a ton of drama behind the scenes that people didn’t know about. My other friend works at a movie theatre , and they date and sleep with each other. Only certain people know. It happens a lot, people just keep it in the “down low” and only certain people know.

The important thing, in my opinion anyway, is for you not to have sex with someone you're dating until YOU feel comfortable about doing that !
