Only he can give you the actual reason, but I can give you some likely possibilities.
- that's the most comfortable position for him, which allows him to relax enough to cum.
- that position turns him on the most - he can look into your eyes/face, or down at your body.
- he can move/thrust the best in that position (for some guys, positions like, say, doggy style, are more difficult to thrust and stay balanced, and positions like cowgirl can mean the girl can't thrust fast enough for him).
- the angle of your vagina while you are in that position just feels the best for him.
Again, it might be something else (ask him), but it's probably one or more of the above reasons.
