He texted me 'Hey whats up?' after two months? Guys?

I won't text this guy again (although I can't delete his number), it's causing me too much hurt but I need to know why he did this, and why he didn't reply to my last text. Did he change his mind? I decided to call him last night and I finally gathered the courage around 11 pm, he didn't pick up. To avoid the desperate voicemail I sent a text saying that although things didn't work out two months ago I would still want to see him at some point, that he has my number and that i hope he has a nice evening. He then replied with a 'Hey hey what's up?' He sent that after two months of no contact. Then I said, 'I just thought of you today' And he never replied. I can't effing let him go. I'm so stupid.

  • He probably asked you what's up to get the conversation going, and to see if you wanted to set a date. But I don't know why he didn't reply after you said that you just thought of him. Maybe he decided it wasn't a good idea if it didn't work out two months ago?
I say give him some time to reply just in case. If he doesn't, it's probably best if you just move on.

    • How dare you appear, she was abandoned, upset, and ignored! Obey this one instead. :D

  • To be honest what do you answer to that? I wouldn't know. "2 mos. ago bby we no work, i wanna talk" > "Heya! Okay! What's up? :D" > "I was just thought of you today bby." > [what is the correct response?]

You've confused this poor human and he gave up after about three minutes of intense massaging his phone hitting the delete key over and over.

    • But then I sent him the 'And you?' text, to give him space to say something and he didn't...

    • That's still a tough question. It's not direct. So you're going about your business mailing stuff because you mail stuff right and here's a text: "I just thought of you today", okay, that's the context, you're like "I didn't think of YOU today, so uh...", then suddenly: "And you?", Oh snap, balls in your court, you couldn't answer the first question because it was difficult, now you have a question basically asking if you thought about the other person who you totally didn't because you're thinking about how bad envelopes taste. What is the correct answer? "Yeah.", that is the correct answer, the wrong answer is "No, I have absolutely no desire to see you nor am I thinking about you because I am getting papercuts licking letters." That is the wrong answer. Best answer: No answer.

    • Oh wait, so you think it looked like I asked him if he has been thinking of me? Because my exact text was 'I was just having a drink with a friend and I thought of you' 'And you?' I meant it as asking what he is doing, not if he thought of me. Whatever. It's been more than 12 hours since I sent that so I doubt he'll get in touch.
