Girls, are panties uncomfortable? Does the aesthetic of a vagina effect this?

I asked my girlfriend why she always wears mens underwear instead of womens panties, and she explained that they're uncomfortable for her because they're Fold and smush her lips into her vagina and it makes it feel like her vagina is suffocating and literally irritates her genitals making them itch -no std jokes, please. We've both been tested so Ik she doesn't have anything- and calling for constant readjustments because of how tight they are in pushing her lips into her vag. Now I don't understand most of this and I didn't want to look like an idiot by asking her to reexplain/further explain, sooo... Ladies, do any of you have similar complaints? Is this normal? (I don't really understand how underwear designed for women can be uncomfortable for women to wear) also, could this just be because her lips are longer than others? (I haven't seen too many vaginas in my day, but of the ones I have seen in person and the images I have found in p*rn it seems like most womens lips don't really hang out from their vaginal opening much at all if at all. But my current girlfriend, her lips hang out of her vagina maybe 2inches (guesstimate) -also, is this weird? I always just assumed vaginas come in a thousand different forms where the general is obviously the same but the proportions are always different, but when I was looking into this online cuz I started to get curious I found a lot of sites dedicated to body peace for women who actually have insecurities about the aesthetics of their vaginas. And that some women actually get plastic surgery to shave down their lips. I had no idea women had so many issues with their genetalia. I thought was the one insecurity only men had:/

I think she probably needs to buy bigger panties. Never in my life have I had this problem, so I think she just has the wrong size.

Lots of women have insecurities, and I guess if their vagina looks different than what they believe to be aesthetically pleasing, then they might be uncomfortable with how they look. I don't know anyone that is so bothered they got plastic surgery, but that isn't really what my friends talk about so I don't know :p

She should be able to find panties for women that comfortable for her body type. Maybe suggest the boy short type, those are very comfy :) hope this helped

I'm not interested in changing how she dresses. She seems really comfortable with her body and I couldn't care less what she wears, I was only wondering if there were other women who found panties to be uncomfortable and if this was an issue more suited for girls with long lips, lol that's all I was wondering
