I think if you ask someone if you are good, there is always a chance they will lie. But if he just randomly told you you were a good kisser, I don't think he would lie.
Also, when someone says "weird" what they are saying is "Weird to ME". It doesn't mean it is weird. It means they have never experienced something like that or that isn't how they expected to be kissed. Since it was in high school that you were told that, I get that feeling when the guys said "weird' it probably was more because you were experienced in kissing and they had never kissed like that before. It wasn't bad, they just didn't know that people kissed like that. With most things sexual, if someone does something shocking to us, our first reaction is "Oh that was weird". It may feel really good but our mind is trying to figure out what happened. It might take a couple more times to get comfortable with it before we realize we actually like it.
And cause you are getting people telling you are a good kisser now I get that feeling you are a good kisser but probably have been with a couple inexperienced guys who were shocked by your style of kissing.
Well he either thinks that you genuinely are a good kisser, lying because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings, or just trying to get into your pants. Totally depends on what kind of guy he is.
But also you have to take in mind that guys don't all like the same thing. So, for example one guy might think you have the best kisses, while another guy thinks your kisses are horrible and sloppy. Again, just depends on the guy. Everyone's different.
I however would never tell someone that they are a good kisser if they weren't. It would just feel too wrong.
Yes guys will lie about this. I kissed a girl one time who was the absolute worst kisser ever, and she had been told she was good. She seriously kissed like a retarded dog.

I'm completely honest, I asked her if she had ever kissed a guy before, she said "yea, I've been told I'm a good kisser by a bunch of guys." I told her "those guys lied to you..." lol
