Girls, how to completely get ride if vagina hair?

I'm going on a field trip to a water park next week with my friends. And it's a but bushy down there. When I shave the sides I get red bumps. I've changed the razor yes and it still happens. It's a good razor but why the bumps? Should I moisturizer it? And how do you shave all the way down there? Like completely off? Just go one swipe up? Or side to side? Two swipes up? I don't know and I need help fast.

  • What I do is when I'm in the shower, put shampoo/conditioner/bodywash etc. on my bikini line. Okay wait before I go into detail, if it's bushy down there trim the hair. You can use scissors, but this will make the process go by quicker. Anyways, after that I start shaving (don't press down) in the direction the hair in the opposite direction the hair is growing, so upwards. Please try to only shave in the same area once and try to do it as neatly as possible. You do not want a shaven labia. Afterwards wash off the product you used, and moisturize with a lotion or cream. Oh I forgot to tell you to let your hair grow back and then go with the whole scissors to razor stages. This will help prevent a lot of razor bumps. Trust me. If there are some razor bumps on the side and still hair in the middle, use nair or something and that's the best advice I can give girl. Good luck boo

  • If you have sensitive skin, I think that the red bumps will always happen, regardless the method, unless you use the right cream. Personally, I use the EOS shaving cream. You can buy it at your local convenient store. It's really thick and almost a lotion/Shea butter consistency, which is perfect for preventing redness when shaving.
As far as shaving, I'd recommend only focusing on outside of the bikini area, and trim down the rest with a small pair of scissors.

  • Waxing might be an alternative. Most beauticians will be able to do it. It hurts a little bit but then you could be hair free for a up to a month.

  • I don't know I've always been a little skeptical to try so I just shave.

  • If shaving isn't an option for you, you can either get a wax or buy a type of Nair that's specifically for bikini area. Don't use one that's supposed to only be used on places like your legs.

  • you go with the grain. also what are you using to shave?
i use a mixture of conditioner and baby oil and i don't even get ingrown hairs anymore...

  • It shaving doesn't work for you, maybe you should wax.

  • I just shave everywhere. But before I started shaving there, it was really thick and bushy so I had to get and use a trimmer. Then once it was all trimmed well, then I started shaving on a regular basis.

  • Do you have sensitive skin? I have sensitive skin and I use Gillette razor and Olay shaving gel, it works best for me. I also use lotion after that. Perhaps you should try waxing?

  • Trim it before you shave and always use something that softens the hair, like conditioner or coochy. Shave gel for legs barely works. I go against the grain for the closest shave but that may not work for everyone. Go slow and standing up in the shower for me is easiest, pull the skin to one side and shave little bits at a time. Good luck. :)

  • well I've done that too and i always get red bumps and I've tried to go all the way down to get it all and it cut me then i switched to Nair it completely took of all the hair but be-careful not to leave it on to long or it will start to burn. You can buy different types of Nair at Walmart like deodorant, and a lotion type buy the lotion type and put it on the "down stairs" if you know what i mean and soon wash it off and it should be as smooth as a baby's butt.

I hope I helped with the problem.

  • you should wax!
