Why do I have little bumps on my areolas around my nipples?

I feel like picking at them and I didn't notice them until a couple or few months ago. What are they? What are they for?

Don't you think that's a question that should've popped up while going through puberty?

They're Montgomery glands. Totally natural and normal. They protect the areola and nipple.

@YourFutureEx yes a person is born with them. They tend to be more pronounced during pregnancy and breast feeding and hormonal bc of course. Like I said though. Totally natural.

Well, I don't think I have specified glands required to have them and I don't have them either. But my ex had this and I was scared to touch them but now after reading this post, I think it's okay.

Not a fan but I'd compromise. 😓

That's really strange. How the hell did I not notice them before? I'm a really observant person and I'm always paying attention to my body and everything to it just like how I notice every little detail and I've always been that way

It happens when you get older, change of birth control, hormone fluctuation. If you're really worried about them then go to a doctor but i promise they're normal xD
