What are some advice you can share about the pull out method?

My boyfriend and I decided to try out the pullout method last night rather than use a condom for the first time. He told me he made sure to pull out before he put out and said he's sure nothing happened inside of me. I'm completely okay with the idea of us having unprotected sex because I trust him but is there anything I should know since I'm new to this whole thing? Like how often doing this would you say is too much?

  • If you take some precautions the pull out method can be reasonably safe. First, many people say pre-cum has sperm in it, I think this is not true, the only way pre-cum has sperm in it is due to left-over real semen inside the penis and reproductive tract from a previous ejaculation shorly before. Once you have sex again this will be pushed out by new pre-cum behind it. If this oozes out while your penis head touches the cervix you can easily cause pregnancy. This can be solved by peeing. Second, most men start to ooze out real semen shortly before fully ejaculating. Try to edge a couple of times in a row really close to coming and see for yourself. This can be solved by really pulling out in time and not in the split second before you start to ejaculate, the first spurts contain the most fertile sperms, so that's a risk too.

Taking this into consideration you can significantly lower your risks. We worked this way as a couple with no accidents till today, and before anyone thinking one or both of us are not fertile, both kids we wanted and planned were made in less then 4 months of trying. (Yes, it is much nicer coming inside :-))

  • Okay look. The pull out method works. It does but... and I mean but... it doesn't mean your boyfriend is an expert at it. If he has too much to drink or isn't thinking clearly guess what... OOOPS... i highly DON'T RECOMMEND. Condoms are expensive I get it. Birth control isn't much cheaper. Having a baby.. now that is not cheap. I think you know what to do.

    • Yes. Exactly. A box of condoms or birth control is much cheaper than 18 years of raising a kid. Let's be responsible here and look at the big picture, not just the immediate short term.

    • @Lovelinefan So true... seriously do the right thing.

  • NEVER DO IT UNLESS YOU WANT AN UNWANTED PREGNANCY AND TO HAVE A RUINED LIFE, TO BE A SINGLE MOM AND TO NEVER BE ABLE TO FIND MEN AGAIN! 1 SECOND CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE! NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS DO NOTTTTTTTTTTT DO THIS! ALWAYS USE AT LEAST A CONDOM, BUT THE BEST THING IS TO USE PILLS AND CONDOM! BE SAFE! DON'T BE STUPID AND TRUST HIM! HE IS OBVIOUSLY A DOUCHEBAG PLAYING THE LIE-CARD: "A CONDOM DOESN'T FEEL AS GOOD AS RAW". YOU SHOULD DUMP HIM BECAUSE HE SUGGESTED THAT. HE MAY PLAY NICE, BUT HE OBVIOUSLY ISN'T. HE IS ALSO UNEDUCATED SEX-WIE AS WELLLLL!!! DON'T DO IT! BELIEVE ME, I AM NOT PARRANOID. I HAVE HAD 3 FRIENDS FROM MY CLASS GET PREGNANT LIKE THAT. ONE WAS 15, ANOTHER WAS 16 AND THERE IS MY EX-BEST FRIEND THAT WAS 18. THOSE WERE ONLY THE GIRLS FROM MY CLASS, BUT THERE ARE 2 MORE FROM OTHER CLASSES IN OUR SCHOOL. ONE WAS 17 (SHE HAS 2 CHILDREN NOW, HER LIFE IS RUINED!!! SHE HAS AN ABUSIVE HUSBAND) AND ONE THAT IS 18... THEY HAVE NO LIVES! DO NOT DO IT!!! PLEAAASSEEE

    • Condoms really do suck though... to be fair to him.

    • @BelleGirl21 condoms do suck no question... but which would suck worse, having an unwanted baby or the little inconvenience of using a condom.

    • @BillieJean1070 THAT IS NOT TRUE. CONDOMS DON'T SUCK. BUT IF YOU ARE SO STUPID THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED THAT YOU CHOSE 80% PLEASURE FOR HIS PENIS THAN 100% PLEASURE FOR HIS PENIS, AS OPPOSED TO WEATHER YOU WILL HAVE SEX OR RUIN YOUR LIFE, THEN GO AHEAD AND FUCK UP YOUR LIFE! BUT DON'T COME CRYING BACK TO ME WHEN YOU HAVE A BABY THAT HE doesn't PAY SUPPORT FOR AND WHEN YOU CAN NEVER FIND A MAN AGAIN.

  • Doing this ONCE is too much, if you don't want a child!

    I am a single mother. Don't do it. DON'T.
Is contracting an STD or getting pregnant worth "feeling good" during sex?

Anyways, stock up on Plan B, get it and use it now.
But if you plan on doing this, you should use the pill, or spermacide and track your periods at least.

Go to your doctor, and discuss other forms of birth control.
Don't play Russian Roulette with the Pullout Method.

  • It's a risky method. Pre-cum can contain sperm. Plus, all it takes is one slip-up on his part for you to possibly get pregnant. And he could make a mistake without realizing it.

If avoiding pregnancy is important to you, don't use this method. It's just not a good idea. If you're okay with getting pregnant, then taking the risk is not a big deal, but if you absolutely don't want kids, use a more reliable method. Period.

    • Don't want kids right now, I should say.

  • Best Advice: Don't do it.

Pre-cum has sperm in it too, so before he even cums there's a possibility he's getting you pregnant. Also, all it takes is one time for him to slip up and you could get pregnant.

If you're still hell bent on going bareback, at least get on the pill, IUD, depot shot, or some other form of birth control. Be smart about this, not stupid.

  • Honestly its really stupid but I would be lying if I said I hadn't done it in my long term relationship for a while and I did. BUT its definitely the worse form or so people say, just make sure you're not ovulating.

    • Its definitely not reliable and I wouldn't risk it.

  • Couples who use the "pull out" method of birth control are called "Parents." If you're going to be doing sexual intercourse, please get yourself on birth control and have him wear a condom as well.

  • if you're gonna pull out you should be on birth control too. it's very unreliable :/

  • Semen can still live in precum so it's still very possible to get pregnant. If you two are cool with that then great! If not I really hope that you're using another method like the pill or depo shot or something to prevent pregnancy. Once you've got that figured out keep having fun

    • 1 in 2000 isn't very possible.

    • @orphan tell that to the millions of oops babies from the pull out method

  • Yes, you should know. This is a very bad idea. You should make your mind about becoming pregnant if you use this method. Like it's ok if you are in no rush to be pregnant but would still be ok if you were. If you don't want to be pregnant at all, don't do it.

  • Advice about the pull-out method...

    Buy a crib.

  • Even one little sperm (there are about 300,000 in a drop of precum) can fertilize an egg. The moment he's erect, precum can come out and you can get pregnant. At least use birth control pills or a condom, if not both, when having sex with someone that you don't want to have babies with.

  • Yes, there's one thing you should know: too risky.

  • Just Dont get pregnant.

  • don't use it.

  • When done correctly the pull out method has a 98% effective rate compared to 99% for condoms. I've used it thousands of times effectively. It requires total discipline on his part. He will want to leave it in, but he can't.

It will help him if when he pulls out you stroke it out of him, so he won't be worried about pulling out early.

  • The pull out method is great if you're okay with getting pregnant.

  • Ok my husband and I have used pull out method for over 15 years now. We have never had an "accident" but I would never never never use pull out method with someone I'm not in a very committed relationship with, or if I didn't want to get pregnant with or if I had any doubts as to his control.

    • Ya this is the way to go

  • Have a solid plan B in effect also.

  • My advice for the pullout method is don't use it if you don't want to get pregnant.

  • Previn can get you pregnant so your method will fail sooner or later.

    • Sorry that was supposed to be "precum"

  • Get on the pill too and have him pull out, you'll be really safe that way

  • I've used the pull-out method a lot with exGFs and regular FWBs in the past without any pregnancy scares. At the end of the day it's what you and your partner feel more comfortable with... bareback pull-out or using condoms for extra protection.

Practice does make perfect the more you solely rely on this method 😉 👌

  • It doesn't always work, you might moan or move in a way that is exciting and bam next thing you know he offloads inside of you, he may be tempted to cum inside you just cause, pre cum has some risk, once in awhile if you use lube its hard to tell if you have cummed or not

  • Please do actual research to see how the "pull out method" isn't a method for preventing pregnancy. SMH
