Help!!! How do you get rid of period cramps and pains?

I am on my period. Just started today. And my stomach keeps hurting (lower ab area) and my pussy hurts and aches. It comes in waves. Like I'll feel fine one minute and damn near crying and bending over holding my stomach in pain. Help! Please. I need some way to get rid of it

  • Usually I don't have stomach ache during my periods. Sometimes I have but it is only first day of it. It is not that strong ache as you describe. That time I just want to stay alone and sleep. I don't usually take medicine. My friend does but after taking them she needs even stronger medicines cause pain gets stronger and stronger after a while.
So you should just find a warm place and try to relax or you should go to doctor, maybe there's another hidden reason behind your pain.
My cousin had awful pain during her periods and doctor said she had problems with her ovaries.

  • Massage!! Massage your stomach all the way around in an upside U shape starting at the right and going up towards the left. It really works. And also get hydrated. it sounds stupid,. but that can help a lot. Have you looked into pain meds?

    • Yeah. I keep taking Advil

  • "Yoga." Sit on your knees and lean forward as far as you can. Here's an example: www.popsugar.com/.../Yoga-Poses-Relieve-Cramps-131470
The one I'm talking about is the "wide child's pose." You don't need to be super flexible to do it.

    • (The other opinions are great too, but I suggest doing this before trying medication. Since when is that automatically a first resort?) Heat, pills, stretching... Those are the only options I know of. At least one of those is guaranteed to help. It depends on the person.

  • My wife used to always take a nice hot bath. Sometimes multiple times a day. But now with a couple of kids she rarely has the time for luxury like that. If it gets really bad then she takes Midol. Pills specifically for menstrual cramps available over the counter. Also I think @SilentShadow had the right idea with the yoga. I'm definitely gonna suggest that to my wife next time

  • Over the counter ibuprofen 200 mg, and take 2, unless you're sensitive to it. Take it with some food so it won't upset your stomach. Make an appointment with your physician. Sorry to hear you are going through this to this extent.

  • Take panadol to help with pain, but allow your body to adapt to the pain before worrying. If the pain is severe after a few months then see a dr about pain-relief. Welcome to womanhood.

    • Panadol is the same as Tylenol and Anacin.

  • Pamprin Extra Strength is the Best from the Rest.
Good luck and Hoping you feel better Soon. xx

  • Girl, me too! I'm going through hell as well. Take pain pills. Stay warm, they hurt more when you're cold. Don't drink cold water, it chills everything on the inside, thus making you hurt more.

  • A brush walk. Mild exercise is probably the best remedy. That and stay hydrated.

  • Midol or Tylenol

  • I've heard several accounts from different girls that orgasms can relieve menstral cramping. It makes your uterus to contract as you cum, and loosens your muscles.

    • Right now I feel so sick I couldn't do it. I would probably throw up actually.

  • Don't drink anything cold, drink hot tea or coffee. That really helps me.

  • Well, I don't get period pains so I can't tell you from personal experience, but I read that laying on the couch with a heating pad can help, and crying over a sad movie.

Oh, and I don't know if this will relieve any pain, but chocolate makes everything better XD

    • Oh, and be careful. I know everyone is telling you to take a different medicine but a lot of them are the same. So just check with your mom or dad before taking them

    • I took some Advil and that lessened it enough to sleep thank heaven

  • Heat helps with mine. Hot tea is always nice.

  • Masturbate. Very blunt but it works lol

  • As weird as it sounds for me it's exercise and water and a handful of pain meds.

  • Ibuprofen and put a heating pad on ur stomach thats what I do and take a hot bath it helps relax you

    • And drink hot tea I suffer with severe cramps too every other month
