I'm right at 7 inches and in some positions my wife complains it goes too deep and hurts. One lady I was with once complained it hurt in the normal missionary position. Most women never said anything about it, so I assume it wasn't a problem.
It's also worth noting that most people over exaggerate a lot, including women. Truth is, they don't really know just by looking. A few women, my wife included, swore up and down I was 8+ until we broke out the measuring tape.
Also, the famous "g-spot" , which is normally accredited for the "squirt", is only 2-3 inches inside the vagina.
5+ inches is probably sufficient for most women, even if they don't know it.

women's main sensitivity is in the first 2 inches inside her vagina, so actually, length is never really that important. I've been with a guy who has a long d*** before (8 inches) and it was OK, but my current boyfriend is only 7 inches, but his d*** is girthy, which is what makes all the difference. And as for the squirting thing, you're more likely to achieve that with your tongue and fingers then with you're d***, it requires dexterity! :)

Well apparently the average size of a womans vagina before having children is only 3 inches, and is only 4 when when aroused. However it stretches so I guess any length will be satisfactory. I'm just going on what I've read.:)

5-6 is average, 6+ is considered big, 5 and below considered on the small side.
in terms of thickness, 4.5-5 is considered average with 5+ to be on the thick side.
anything longer than 4 inches can satisfy any woman if used right (g-spot), and if you hit the G enough you can make them squirt, so anything above 4 is good, anything above 4 is an added bonus
