Does it hurt giving birth for the first time?

  • It probably depends on the woman, but the majority I've hear said it does, if they aren't using anesthetic of a sort during. The labour I believe is probably the worst part. Some women go DAYS of straight labour. Which is when the Uterus opens up big enough for the head/shoulders to come out. As well, it's almost normal for women to get tears in their vaginal openings during the actual birthing process, so then there is that. But then again, you hear other women that say that it lasted 20 mins from labour to birth and they didn't have any issues with pain. So it's all up to the woman's pain tolerance I suppose.

  • Yes, little bit pain from what i heard but most women can handle more pain than men. ( no offense to guys)

  • It does. Once the vagina hole has been ripped, they also sew it back too. I don't see the point of having a natural birth. I rather get cut in the tummy to have baby out instead.

  • You are pushing a baby out of your vagina. Your vagina can tear all the way to your asshole during childbirth. It doesn't take a genius or even a mother to realize that it hurts.

  • Every pregnancy and birth is different. But epidurals makes it almost painless for most and you just feel pressure down there.

  • Considering a child rips out of your vagina, yeah I'd assume it smarts a little.

  • My BM walked into the birthing room with full confidence, high pain tolerance, and a "This will be easy" attitude. Couple hours into labor she was in tears squeezing my arm and neck and crying saying "I need an epidural now". I witnessed the entire process and I've never heard her scream like that ever.
