Do promiscuous people ever get stds more than the average person?

I presume they get treated after detection.

  • More partners mean increased risk.

That doesn't mean some people can't be diligent about protecting themselves, as opposed to one person who chooses not to have safe sex with one person. Anything is possible. It's just the risk is greater. Herpes for example can be passed through the fibres of the skin even if there is no outbreak, so a condom would not help from preventing this. More partners? - more chances of getting something like herpes.

    • Well i am thinking they must be careful to not contract it as to who they choose to sleep with as well.

    • That's on the individual. Having a number doesn't mean anything when it comes to how to prepare yourself for against STDs. PEOPLE WITH 0 or FEWER PARTNERS: 1. A person is conscientious and will either abstain from sex or have few partners to get to know and be safe with. 2. A person is non conscientious and has had no partners, but willing to lose their virginity to a prostitute or someone who is at risk. Who is safer? PEOPLE WHO ARE PROMISCUOUS:

    • PEOPLE WHO ARE PROMISCUOUS: 1. Many partners, and no knowledge about protection 2. Many partners, and is conscientious about sexual health. Who is safer?

  • Well I'd presume as they're promiscuous they'd probably get tested more regularly as they know what they're doing. Or at least wear something as they don't want to risk it

  • A girl I know lost her virginity and the guy had herpes so he passed it onto her.
    So no not really.

    • I guess she didn't know him long enough

  • I mean, I would assume so. More partners means more potential for std transmissions, even if you're careful

  • Logically they must. More partners means more potential for STDs.

    • I know my friend told she's gotten hpv and had it treated with a herbal pill

  • No it only takes one time to get an std.

  • No careless people get more std.

    • I disagree with that

    • your view and my view is different.

  • I've been promiscuous over the years and have had lots of unprotected sex. I caught genital warts a few years back but they went away on their own however 3 years later I caught HSV-1 oral and genital herpes. I actually don't know who I caught these STIs from to this day.

Either way if I did wear condoms, I probably would have still caught these STIs since they don't protect you from them.

  • Occupational hazard I'm told :)

  • No there more aware of the risks

    • Only if they gotten most of the treatable ones 🙄

    • Or you wear condoms and don't get them at all
