Embarrassed to have a girlfriend?

There's a girl which I like, she likes me too, and I'll start dating her but I feel embarrassed to tell my parents about it, because it shows my weakness which is having those tender feelings for someone, because everybody is used to seeing me as this cold hearted, brutal and strong guy. Strong = no feelings of love or sympathy, but once you start seeing a girl meaning you like her meaning you're exposing your weakness, it may sound stupid but I've always been that way, never liked talking about girls with family. I can communicate with them easily but having a girlfriend is just making you soft in some way...

aw cmon thats bullshit, you're human, it's natural for you to have tender feelings like that, even the macho-est of men do, cause it's our biological instinct. i'd be proud, that u actually got yourself a nice girl. no one expects anything from you, everyone experiences romantic attraction.

I think they will be very interested to see another side to you tbh. They might be shocked or intrigued but later on they will be happy for you down the road. I dont think its a bad thing to "flex your personality" around, should do it more often to get a funny reaction out of everyone 😂

Thanks for your response. It's not that easy, it seemed as if I was only motivated on doing what I love, full focus and hatred towards those who stood in my way

It sounds like your attitude and behaviour created an image in which people expect you to uphold; so if you let down this image for one second you may feel like you lose respect, power, identity or fail their expectation. But honestly; do what you want and dont do what everyone expects you to do. Thats not a healthy way to live and you have one life to live - make it count 😊

Thank you for sharing. Yeah people expect me to act the way I always acted and if I show feelings of softness it crosses out all my characteristics of bring a leader and an initiator

No it's not, if you are strong enough to let someone into your heart it means that you dispute your own insecurities about having feelings is one step closer to being able to get over that weakness

Hopefully that's sincere. Honestly I have been in a relationship with a guy that had problems being open about his feelings always feeling like he had to be strong.. but really the strongest thing you can do is embrass the way you feel
