There are campaign after campaign about female genital mutilation yet society things male genital mutilation is ok when in reality it isn't. Go to any doctor and ask them and they will tell you the same thing. The only reason a doctor would recommend "circumcision" is if the patient has some sort of medical condition that would require the foreskin to be romoved
