Am I pregnant? Signs and symptoms of pregnancy? 2 months?

In October I had sex with my ex. In the morning we had sex, no condom. It didn't last too long, he usually pulls out and cums but that time he didn't and he kind of had a nervous facial expression on his face. Okay so since then I've been nervous that I'm pregnant. He swears up and down that he didn't. I've had my period but my mom said that she also got her period up until she was three month pregnant. My mom brought to my attention that my stomach is hard and she strongly thinks I'm pregnant. I'm nervous. I have noticed my stomach is bigger and I'm very bloated. None of my bottoms have been fitting, I figured its weight gain. I'm just unsure because I've been getting my period. What do you think? I've never had a scare. Any signs of being pregnant that all women experience? Last night I was so nervous because I swore I felt a heart beat in my lower abdominal region.

  • Your mother did not have her period until she was 3 months pregnant. That is biologically impossible unless she has two uteruses. Your mother may have had light spotting which can happen to some women as the uterus begins to grow to accommodate the zygote. But it will not look or feel like a regular period.

A period sloughs off old endometrial lining from the inside of the uterus. When those first few cells of a fertilized egg implant in the uterine wall, in the endometrium, it sends an immediate hormonal signal to the rest of the body to NOT go into period mode, but to instead go into pregnancy mode.

If you've been getting your period, it is not possible for you to be pregnant unless YOU have two uteruses. (You don't.)

And why the hell has your mother not taken you down for a pregnancy test if she's so sure? And she hasn't helped you pick an OB/GYN to monitor prenatal health?

This is ridiculous. You aren't pregnant. Having a period = NOT pregnant.

    • That is exactly what I said to her! Then I started to doubt myself because she was so serious when she told me that some women (her included) get their period up until two months or throughout their whole period. She said its very rare but is possible. I'm beyond paranoid. I figured I would take her word of advice a little because she was pregnant herself and has had sisters and friends. She has for sure made me very paranoid.

    • Nope. Mom is misinformed. If those tiny cells are embedded in the uterine lining, why would your body still shed that lining? It doesn't. The fertilization of the ovum signals the body to prepare for pregnancy and stop preparing for a period. If, and only if, you are one of those women who ovulates really close to your period (it happens) it's possible for a fertilization to occur and a little bit of period to happen, once, right in the beginning. Not periods for several months. Your mother simply doesn't have the correct information about how her uterus and ovaries work, or,, she may just be remembering things wrong or misunderstood what was happening to her body. But she didn't have three periods while pregnant, otherwise your little zygote would have been flushed right out with the endometrium. I strongly recommend that you see your regular doctor. You need a medical authority to explain this stuff and you need to be on some sort of contraception.

  • 8-10 weeks is a little early to feel a baby bump. Just take a pregnancy test and see.

    • My mom is swearing up and down I am. Besides being bloated, I don't have any other symptoms of pregnancy. I don't believe I'm pregnant either but I'm very paranoid after what my mom said last night, she always turns out to be right.

    • Nevermind what she thinks, just go get a good damn kit and confirm it. He probably did cum inside you but I think the stress of it all is making you see signs that aren't there.

    • @Jimmy_Russell I know I sound so idiotic, this is embarrassing. I'm taking a test on Friday. I'm very nervous. I do feel something inside of me. I'm beyond paranoid. I don't know what I'm going to do. I would be happy that I'm pregnant, but considering I would most likely be a single mom will be what bothers me the most. I know I'll love my child and do everything in my power to provide the best life I can. I wish the circumstances would have been different but God wanted this to be. I hope my mom is supportive. The guy I'm pregnant by is in a relationship atm, but all I hope is that he would do right by his child.
