How to avoid pregnancy at 30+ if you dont want to pull out, use condoms, take birth control, or get a vasectomy (please read more below)?
This question is mainly for when he and I age up. We were wondering the other day, what could we do? Like we want to marry then have sex and have our kids like 24-30. Like inwant to have babies more than anything but once i hit like 30, i dont want to have anymore babies. Yet i never wanted to take birth control either. And im sure he wouldn't mind a vasectomy but i dont want him to do that. Plus if we’re married i’d hate for us to have to use condoms and we’d both hate for him to not get to cum inside. Oh yea and abortions are NOT AN OPTION. Are there any other ways to not get pregnant? I mean if i had to go with any of the above it would be the pullout method but i’d hate to ruin the mood like that everytime. I mean I dont want to be like Abraham and Sarah who had a baby like 90 years old. I mean honestly i prob wouldn't even be that into sex once i hit like 50 lol

  • The pill is not always an option for some women. Withdrawal is like playing russian roulette. Vasectomies ok if you have your children don't want any more. Abortion is just do wrong.. So the only alternative is the good old condom of cause there is just don't do it you can make love just don't dip your wick !!!

    • Hahaha i like this answer. But I don't know. Dammit this is hard

  • Gotta work on getting that strong pull out game

    • Hahaha yup

  • A vasectomy or getting your tubes tied is the most effective way to avoid pregnancy if you absolutely don't want anymore children. You could always get your eggs & sperm frozen if you think you might change your mind.

Here are some other methods you could try but they aren't as effective

    • And u “recommend” this from experience?

    • @Listening5 Is there a problem?

    • Yea i was thinkin of this. Like i dont want either but they do seem the most reasonable. And we hope to have 2-3 kids before we hit 30 so I don't know if we need to freeze anything lol

  • After having 3 kids my husband had a vasectomy. I hate birth control. The best thing we did. Very easy procedure for him as well. It took 10 minutes, only 2 stitches. He was up walking around right after like nothing.

    • Sounds like a good idea. I just worrybabout the risks

  • People absolutely have sex beyond their 50s.

If I'm understanding your question correctly, it sounds like you've ruled out pretty much every effective option aside from abstinence. You've eliminated birth control, condoms, vasectomies, which are your best bets, plus the withdrawal method. You could try the rhythm method (avoiding sex during your fertile period), but this is difficult to do accurately and means that you'll have to avoid sex when your body craves it most. You can get your tubes tied if you don't want him to get a vasectomy, but it's more invasive and more dangerous. Spermicides and such are an option to consider too, but aren't super effective when used alone.

    • I have a non-hormonal IUD which has been great for me. I don't know whether you consider that "birth control" since it's not hormonal.

    • Thanks. And yea i know lots of old people who still get t on. I just meant I don't know if we’d still be attracted to certain body parts by then lol

    • I think you should wait until you get to that point to make that decision. Your perspective changes as you get older so even though you wouldn't want to have sex with a 50 year old right now, when you're 50 yourself that will likely change.

  • How about a diaphragm or the copper IUD?

    • What are those

    • Birth control devices that are non-hormonal.

  • I really think you're out of luck then chick because I don't know of any other way to avoid getting pregnant. It sounds like you just want to have regular sex without the possibility of getting pregnant. That's impossible. You either have to use some form of birth control (condoms, pills, etc.) Or just not have sex.

    • Lol maybe by 30 we won't be horny anymore

  • Omg I swear you have the best polls & memes haha. But considering everything you said, your best bet would be birth control. Yeah I know you said you didn't want to do that but there are many different kinds of birth control. I know for me I didn't like the pills but I'm now considering the patch or the shot. There's even more options for u to consider.

    • Yea i dont see myself doing a pill or shot but maybe i’d try the patch. And lol yes i love makin polls

  • All those methods of birth control are available, and you do not want to use any of them. Yet you somehow want to have sex without getting pregnant.

We used condoms for a while, then birth control pills. Once we had all the dis we wanted, I got a vasectomy. It all worked great and both of us were happy.

Why are you against all proven methods?

    • I wouldn't say against but we didn't want them if there was some other way. I mean, how did the vasectomy work aferwards. Like do you still cum inside her?

    • The vasectomy stops the sperm from getting into the tube that eventually connects to the urethra. But along that path is where the sperm would have been mixed into the semen. That semen has not been stopped, so it goes into the urethra during orgasm. The result is that the male still ejaculates the semen, which is what you wee when a guy without a vasectomy orgasms. So there is no visible difference between a guy with a vasectomy and a guy without. Also, the male hormones are still produced and get into his system so his sex drive does not change.

    • Oh hmm not bad. So like if u paid a bunch of money for a vasectomy and then u somehow still got her pregnant, would u sue the doc?

  • First, pull out method doesn’t work. You may get lucky with it. The same way you can get lucky playing Russian roulette. And if there’s a way to not get pregnant other than all youve listed, I’m not sure anyone is aware if it. The only two reasonable choices are vasectomy and the many forms of birth control you can take. Pill, IUD, injection shot. but, maybe in the next 7-10 years, by the time youve married and had all the kids you want there will be some medical breakthrough.

    • Lol pullout method does work. Haha trust me. But yea maybe they’ll come up witt something

    • Im not going to go into personal detail here but trust me, it doesn't always work. Please trust me.

    • It does work. Stop scaring her.

  • Guys that wants sex and relationships but also know they truly don't want kids should do a fertility check first, if infertile, CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE HIT THE LOTTERY!

If fertile, get a vasectomy or use other birth control, but they are less effective, and condoms can be broken or even sabotaged from what I've heard.

  • You could get your tubes tied (not a guaranteed method though)

    • Hmm true. I forgot my mom had this done back in like 2001. I mean but she and her partners use condoms so that doesn't help me much to know how durable it is

    • It works most of the time but it does fail sometimes (my mom got pregnant with her tubes tied but she got it redone like 13 years ago and she hasn't had any additional problems

  • I would never recommend the pull out method !

    • Lol lets just say its worked manytimes before hehe

  • Is more easy to have a vasectomy. Why wouldn't you consider thag as your first choice? If yoi guys want a baby afterwards there are ways to "reverse" it or extract sperm.

    • Okay. But we’ll have all our kids before 30 hopefully

    • Ok, np. But still, if you want to go bananas, vasectomy is the best way.

  • Have a hysterectomy. Problem solved.

    • But thats like a vasectomy. We dont want either of those

    • Sadly none of us live in Utopia, therefore we can't always have what we want, and so sacrifices and common sense has to prevail.

  • You could get your tubes tied, but it's a lot more invasive than birth control. On the other hand, it's a one time procedure, whereas birth control you have to take every day.

    • Yea my mom has her tubes yied but I don't know how good it works since she also uses condoms

  • You could get your tubes tied, or get an IUD/implant.

    • Yea maybe tubes

    • Just make sure you're done procreating first, but I'm sure I don't need to tell you that lol

    • Yea i just turned 23 and pray i have as many healthy babies as i can. Then when i turn 31 i’ll prob get my tubes tied I don't know

  • The way you ask the question makes it hard to answer... any doctor will confirm double protection is the safest: a condom can break and the birth control pill is also not a 100% safe solution.
If you use a condom AND use the pill that's extremely close to 100% safe.
You cannot take your precautions without taking you precautions :-(
If you can find a solution, I'd say sell it and you'll become a rich lady :D :D

  • Out of curiosity, why is 30 the magic number you want to stop having kids at?

    • I know the risk doesn't start til like 34+ but i just kinda wanted a kid like 24, 26, 28, and 30. Or 25, 27, and 29. But yea i wanted to focus on career at 30+

    • Oh ok. Fair enough.

  • Stick to sexual activities that don’t involve genitals coming (pardon the pun) in contact with each other.

  • You could just use some birth control, or get yo tubes tied.. Ish like that.. Or just use condoms.. But I'm witchu on the married couples usin condoms type ish..

    • Yea we’ll prob do the tubes

    • Yeah, if y'all wann keep goin into pound town.. LOL..

    • Oh, Happy belated Birthday!.. :D

  • There's a lot of other protection you can use like getting a "iud" or a "contraceptive patch". It's what work the best.

    • Whats an IUD

    • It's intrauterine device. It's something their insert in you for not being pregnant. I don't really know how to explain so it's better if you look it up on google. It will explain better than me ><

  • There are other methods of birth control that may be worth exploring

  • I would just get an iud.
My grandma had unprotected sex for years. Next thing you know she’s pregnant with my uncle at 38. She thought it was a tumor.

    • Omg yea see im not trying to have a kid that late in the game. And whats an iud?

    • A form of birth control that’s inserted. That way you don’t have to take the pill everyday.
