Guys, can you feel your partner’s IUD inside her?

I’m thinking about getting an IUD, but I’m not sure how it’ll effect the intimacy between my boyfriend and I. Are there any guys on here who have experience having sex with a girl who has an IUC? Do you feel it during sex? Does it bother you? What do you think about them? Any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help! :)

  • My wife has had one for the past year. We frequently have sex and I've never noticed it. She loves it, I think it's great. If you're worried about birth control affecting your hormones, this is a great solution for you. I would caution that this type of birth control does not help you regulate your periods like other birth control does. You will have natural periods. But as a way to prevent unwanted pregnancy, it's very good. You also shouldn't worry so much about how it makes your boyfriend feel during sex. This question would be better directed towards girls to ask them if they can feel it during sex. Worry more about yourself.

    • Thanks for that! Very informative. 😊 I’m not too worried about my periods I just don’t wanna accidentally make any tiny humans. 😅

  • You can sometimes feel it yes, just a slight poke, or an itch from the strings. Especially early after its inserted. But its not unpleasant and seems to reduce significantly after the implant has been in for a while.
As for intimacy: it really shouldn't have an effect, and you might find discussing it with him is the sort of bonding conversation which can increase intimacy over all.

I would say if you want to try it, do so.

    • Thanks for that! 😊 I appreciate you sharing your informative opinion! I’ll definitely have a chat with him before I get it but I’m still in the “overly researching” stage of my decision, which is why I’m here. 😂

  • I've experienced this. I didn't mind it. It was almost a turn-on, a sensory reminder of the female biology I'm attracted to. If this is a concern for you, I say don't worry--there are many frivolous things men care about, this isn't one of them. Good luck!

    • Hmm.. interesting. Thanks for your feedback and the luck! 😊

  • My girl is on the pill but following for interest

    • It’s worth looking into, I think. The pros look like they outweigh the cons to me...

  • A woman tends to bleed during sex while having that inserted inside of her. That's annoying!

    • That’s concerning.. and I agree, that would be annoying!! Thanks for the feedback! 😊

    • You're welcome.

  • Yes, I can feel it when I have my fingers inside her during oral or something. I also feel it with my penis, but only if I concentrate on it. It doesn't hurt and usually the pleasure is big enough to not think about it and/or care :)

    • Added info: it feels like a bit of string.

    • So not uncomfortable or off putting?

  • I have felt it and I get concerned that I am hurting or will hurt my partner. It's a weird feeling of something touching your dick at worst. But I get afraid that I might pull it out of her or I might open her up.

  • What is it

    • Birth control

    • It’s a form of birth control. It’s inserted by a doctor. It’s basically an internal barrier that sits quite deep inside the vagina and it blocks the path for sperm to reach the ovaries. It also makes it harder to any fertilized eggs to implant should the sperm actually reach the egg. I hope that helped.

    • Oh I see never h3ard of it now I'm intrested

  • Usually, no. The device is inside t the uterus based on its name. Intercourse at the most heads to contact with the certain, so if the string is a bit long I imagine a hit might feel it, but I don't think it would be a very big deal.

A guy's penis can take a beating, although it can be susceptible to fracture if bent excentricly. 🤔

Bottom line, unlikely, and if so, not a big deal.

    • Thank you for your opinion on the matter. 😊

  • When my ex had her's in, I used to feel it when we used positions which gave a little deeper access. It doesn't hurt at all but if you feel any discomfort in the following weeks, please see a doctor to see if it has shifted

    • Thanks for the heads up! 😊

  • No. I never felt it. Also a diaphragm would go unnoticed for a dick :)

    • Thanks for the feedback. 👍

  • The device itself no. But the string can be cut off anywhere so there might be a bit of monofilament at the cervix.

    • So you’re saying you’d feel the string sometimes? Did that bother you?

    • It was more surprising. Kinda like being poked with fishing line. Likely not the case for most. I'm on the bigger side so she broke up with me because of the cervix punching. 😕
