When will my breasts start growing?

Question

Sooooo... I'm 13 (almost 14), have had my period for about a year now, I'm 5'7 and the people in my family all have giant breasts. I don't really get teased for having a kind of flat chest but people definitely notice. It's embarrassing because a lot of girls in my class already have a cups. How fast will they grow? How big will they be? I don't really care I'm just very confused and feel insecure.

Mine didn't really grow until about 16 so don't worry! I went from an A to a C in less than a year so it really happened quick.

Also know that you definitely aren't alone... when I was in middle school, some of the other flat chested girls stuffed their bras with tissues or wore bras that were too big just so they looked like they had bigger breasts under their clothes but it was all a lie. You should be proud of yourself for embracing your natural body and don't worry too much, your time will come when your body is ready 🙂

Lastly, some women just have small breasts their entire lives, and that's okay, too! We are all beautiful in our own unique way 🙂

They can take a minute. I went from a nearly invisible A/B to a C/D in a few months. But that wasn't until I was around 15/16. I thought I'd NEVER get them and my sister and mother are quite busty and so were my friends. I'm sorry to tell you, it really does just take patience. I heard that things like drinking soy milk will help and massaging but I think nothing is more effective than waiting. Also, not everyone will get large breasts, mine still look smaller than they are, and I got used to it, and I like them now. I've been there, just hang in there, it'll happen.

I used to wonder the same thing also. By the time I was 15 I could still wear an A cup and always wanted a larger chest. I've studied Clinically Oriented Anatomy since then, and the book said that typically the breasts start to develop around age 12-13 and take about 3 to 5 years to get to their typical size. I say "typical" because there are variables that permanently change breast size as late as your 30s and 40s (such as childbirth). I saw read somewhere that you could use your mother and aunt as an estimate of what your chest size will be.

Mine started growing when I was 14. Same as periods and before pubic hair. We're all different though so don't worry, they will definitely come!

Ask your mum and grandma what age theirs grew in. Otherwise just dont get unhealthily skinny and theyll grow as they should when theyre ready. Large boobs can be inconvenient at times (or so my female friends tell me) so enjoy your last few months to year or two without them ;)

1st step is to look at the women with whom you are blood relatives to get an idea of what kind of genetics you have you may just be a later bloomer. i know it can be difficult but try not to worry
