Now I know my wife and I have some issues. You can see that in my other posts. We only have sex about once a month. And even then, it’s only after she’s had a few glasses of wine first. And that’s annoying! It almost feels like the only time she’ll ever be intimate with me is when she’s tipsy! Always seems like I’m the one trying to initiate sex. I’ll try to snuggle with her at night, or be flirty and goofy during the day. She NEVER does any of those things to me. Doesn’t see ever get in the mood… Any thoughts? Any suggestions? What’s the deal with her having to drink first before we can even have sex. And this has been going on for like two years!

do you make her feel beautiful? Some times you have to be touching her like hugging her and carrying her to bed (you know, like gone with the wind) to make her feel wanted and desired even outside the bedroom. This is (according to cosmo magazines) suppose to build up the suspense and anticipation of sex later on. Also try making her feel beautiful by letting her know she looks good in a certain way, that you really desire her. Do you also buy her lingerie? Try doing that for valentines, and see if when she wears it she feels sexy because I do. hahaha my husband actually tells me that lingerie is for the guy but I think it's for me because when I wear it I feel sexy for me... hahahah well whatever works.

To be honest, she's never really worn lingerie in the 10 years we've been together. It's a long sleeved t-shirt and pants of some sort. Yeah, not very fun and sexy! But why doesn't she ever try to come on to me? Why am I ALWAYS the one feeling like I'm begging for it. It's getting awfully darn old!

Why don't you just ask her about it. In a close relationship, there should be open communication to discuss about any concerns. Just let her know, how she shows you when she wants to have sex so you know. I thought the problem was maybe she wasn't anticipating the fun much to be with you... beforehand. Maybe if she felt you wanted her even outside the bed, she will want you more while in bed... know what I mean? have you tried it? good luck

If your wife needs a bit of alcohol to accept sex she's either stressed or she's uptight about sexual/bodily matters. (the "Good girls don't do those things and dad knows all" syndrome)

Or complexed about saggy breasts or stretch marks.

She wouldn't be the only one or the first one.

Try to discuss it with her, to know how she feels about sex. A therapist might help.

My wife needs tequilla so don't feel bad. I feel your pain but have no answers. Our relationship is better than ever and she always says how much she loves me, how lucky she is, etc. But, no sex unless we're trashed. Then neither one of us ever orgasm and I'm stuffing Mr. Softy anywhere I can!

It's pretty obvious when a person needs to alter their state in order to have sex with you, that's an issue. And like everyone else, I'll throw my 2 cents in and say therapy will help here.
