Unfortunately, yes, it looks like he only wants to get in your pants. I'm not familiar with this particular use of the word "freak," but it certainly seems that's how he was using it.
It's always possible that he mistyped or that you misunderstood him (heck, his Facebook account could have even been hacked), of course, but I wouldn't advise you to hold out on it. I think "wanting to mess" is pretty explicit, so don't waste too much more of your time.
