Anyway if you should shave is for you to decide, my advice would be to try it out and see how you feel. It's a lot of work especially if you let it grow out. Some when shaved can't ever go back because it feels more clean. I shave once every two weeks before it gets too much but I only shave with the grain because you will get ingrown hair otherwise and it sucks. You won't be smooth clean but it's good enough I think.
So try it out and see how you feel about it, maybe go to a waxing saloon and try that too. After all there are many of us that don't mind some hair too so don't worry. Just feel things out.

I shave with the grain. Not quite as smooth but it reduces rist if ingrown hairs... Trust me, you really don't want those down there. Also, lotion helps a bit with the razor burn.
