Is there something wrong with me that I can’t get pregnant?

I’m 25 years old and married. Me and my partner are trying to conceive. I have an app that tracks when I’m ovulating. My husband and I have sex almost everyday except when it’s that time of the month. We’ve been trying to conceive for 7 months already. And no luck.

I feel like it’s me that there’s something wrong with. Before I met my husband. I was dating someone else. And we weren’t trying to conceive but we did have sex without a condom and I never got pregnant.

I should also mention that both of these people do smoke weed. Probably almost everyday.

I do have a normal menstrual cycle so I always assumed I was able to have kids? But. I just wanted a second opinion before I spend money on going to a doctor to figure out what’s wrong.

  • Having sex everyday isn’t conducive to procreation. You’re better off doing it every second day while in your fertile window, giving his sperm time to replenish to a healthy amount.
Pot is known to negatively affect sperms motility, so if you’re really wanting to fall pregnant quitting is going to be recommended by any fertility specialist.

Due to your age most doctors would advice to keep trying for 12 months beforehand beginning to investigate but you could still request some basic tests from your normal doctor.
A semen analysis for your partner
An egg count (AMH blood test), an ovulation test which is just a blood test on day 5 and 21 of your cycle and an ultrasound checking your ovaries, Fallopian tubes and uterus.

If you have no luck conceiving in the 12 months and end up needing a fertility specialist they’ll request all these anyway so at least you’d have a head start.
I’d also start taking coq10 and a pregnancy multivitamin to help with your egg quality

Good luck! Falling pregnant is just harder for some people 😊 when you think about it, even if you have sex on exactly the right days there is still only like a 28% chance of falling pregnant each cycle... 7 months isn’t a lot with those kinds of odds which are for perfectly healthy couples so hang in there!

  • He should take two days off from sex/masturbation and have sex on the third day. Keep doing it that way for better results for a few months. It will increase sperm count, that is why sperm donors have to do it that way too. If that doesn't work after a few months, then both of you could see a doctor.

  • Does he drink? Does he put his mobile phone in his pocket these 2 things alone will wreck the seeman and make them have 2 tails and all with all the radiation! The Drs always blame the female. because they can get so many tests done its more money for them. and their friends the referall game , eat clean no grog no mobile phones that worked for my and my partner!!!

  • Don't assume it's you that may have a problem. You both need to get checked out. Smoking weed regularly can lower the sperm count and/or affect the mobility of the sperm.

  • Trying with well timed cycles up to one year is still deemed normal. Smoking weed will lower sperm count and motility but will not render your partner sterile, just less fertile.

Keep tracking ovulation with the app and add LH tests, these are similar to a pregnancy test but show your ovulation and indicate when you should have sex.

Try sex every other day to have him save up sperm, and make sure that his first ejaculation ends up at the place where Mother Nature expects it to be, hand and blowjobs are for _after_ the first one.

After one year of trying you can think of visiting a doctor. Start with him, jacking off in a jar is painless and gives a good indication to see how well he does in the baby making department. Move on to testing you if his tadpoles seem normal.
