The chances of passing on genital warts :/

I had genital warts about 3weeks ago, and they all cleared up (thanks to this amazing cream)... so I carried on how I usually am and I slept with a boy (who I've slept with before) over the weekend. I was just having a look down there before, as I now do weekly "checks" to see if everything is all good... and I found some more warts :/ I thought they had all gone and now I think I will have passed them onto him... I really don't know what to do, should I tell him?

I have told him and he is actually taking it really way and thinks it could of been him that passed it onto me. No need for the harsh comments, its an easy mistake...

  • Genital warts HPV is passed on via skin to skin contact. Sometimes, the immune system clears the warts within a few months. However, even if the warts go away, the HPV might still be active in the body. So the warts could come back or they may not. Usually within 2 years, the warts and the HPV are gone completely from the body on its own.

I caught genital warts not long after breaking up with an exGF in 2016. They were very tiny and brown in colour along my penile shaft and harmless. Within a few months they were gone and haven't come back since.

    • Thanks for the MHO 😘

  • I have had warts aswell, I got it from loosing my virginity. It's horrible how people are so rude. It could happen to them too. HPV is the most common std in the world & most people don't know they have it, and condoms don't stop it. My doctor told me to wait unlil the warts are clear for 6 months before you can say you don't have them.

    • Don't listen to those assholes who are being rude and trying to scare you. Genital warts are not serious, and will not cause cancer. It's a low risk strain of HPV and the only symptom is the warts themselves. Which can be easily treated and never come back, the might come back but it's not garanteed, especially if you have been clear for over 6 months. I've been to 4 doctors none of them seemed to concerned about it, and told me not to worry.

    • Thank you for your answer and the advice, its really appreciated... I felt quite upset about the other anwers and comments, but at least there is a nice person around so thank you :)

    • It's okay :) I know how horrible it feels. I'm not a whore or anything, I've only ever had sex with one guy & used condoms but I still got them! it's more common then you think. But really it isn't as bad as people say! it's not going to kill you or anything, it's just ugly! but you can get the warts to go away. My mums best friend had them when she was 20 and had them burnt off, she's 53 now

  • I just hope no one else pays the price and that you don't get to as well.

  • ... An easy mistake not to tell someone you have an incurable recurring disease... Wow. No wonder AIDS is an epidemic!

    • its not as serious as aids... and yes it was a mistake. I'm after advice, not to be abused thanks

    • As I said a 7 year old wouldn't require counsel on whether or not to tell someone they have an STI. I'm not here to abuse you. I'm here to be ashamed of the entire "better half" of the human race.

    • i don't think a 7 year old would know was a sti was. well how your writing your answers is harsh, I haven't passed AIDS onto anyone, which people have done
