Can you guys really tell if women are wearing a thong and if so how? Also do thongs turn you on or off?

If you bend over i check two things, top of your pants revieling a whale tail or if you have full back panty lines then obviously you are not wearing a thong. If you have a small triangle print through your pants that is an obvious tell.

Thongs are super sexy. Full back panties are a turn off for me. They have to be really skimpy full back lingerie for me to be interested in. Cheekies are ok but might as well just wear a thong at that point.

Two ways:

Its raised higher than your pants-line.

Your pants are of a translucent material and your thong is a bright/dark color.

Thongs on women are like speedos on guys. PLEASE only wear it if you have a body to match.

Sometimes your thong shows thong panty line (some thongs are not invisible). The idea of a thong is to reduce panty lines. There are bikini cut bottoms available now that have no seams so are also invisible.

if they are smart they will know because the girl will have no panty lines...idk I wear thongs and I've never heard any complaints lol

that's not always true because if you don't have any underwear lines you could be going commando. I too wear thongs and when I wear my tight shorts, the only way you can tell if your mind is fast enough is that you won't see any Visible underwear lines, my front will be nice neat, and uninformed, but that too can be misleading, because some of my shorts have liners.
