Those instincts developed over tens or hundreds of thousands of years, and are deeply ingrained in us.
Civilization has changed HUGELY in the last hundred years, but that is a mere split second in evolutionary time-frames, no where near enough time for those instincts to be adjusted or changed.
Prior to around 1900, life for the average human was HARD. Lifespans were much shorter, and we didn't have the ability to grow, stockpile, and transport food like we do today, so if your area had bad weather or a natural disaster, you could and did have famines, where people literally died of starvation, or of disease that they became susceptable to due to malnutrition. Just making it through the winter was a regular, run-of-the-mill life-and-death struggle in many areas.
Women who didn't carry enough weight (hips, butt, breasts) often couldn't survive these harsh times, and almost certainly had trouble feeding babies. Remember: there was no formula back then. Women who couldn't breastfeed and produce enough milk to keep their babies alive only had two real options: have a wet nurse (a woman who was still lactating) breast-feed her baby, or let the baby die. Obviously, in much of the world, which was overwhelmingly rural in 1900, wet nurses were in short supply, so many, many children died.
Also, many women died in childbirth. It was a leading cause of female deaths until well into the 20th century. Wider hips were a good indicator that a woman would be able to survive childbirth (remember: no C-sections!) with fewer complications.
Sure, you can see that things are much different today, with modern medicine, modern surgery, and modern food production and distribution, but that is an extremely recent development, of less than 100 years, compared to hundreds of thousands of years for those instincts to be fine-tuned.
There was history BEFORE the iPhone, folks.4 0 0 0Signs of fertility are the basis for what we find attractive. In today's modern age, most guys won't care how fertile you are (unless they're looking to have kids in the immediate future) but will still likely be attracted to signs of fertility. This is because we're programmed to like those particular features.
Women follow this principle as well. For instance, biologically women are often attracted to strong muscular men. In the caveman era, this was because they were more likely to be able to protect them. In today's modern age most women aren't worried about whether are not their guy is physically strong enough to protect her from attackers, though they'll still be attracted to muscular men.
People do not have the luxury of logically choosing which traits they'll find attractive, they're biologically programmed into us. In the case of men being attracted to signs of fertility, that's because back in the caveman days, we wanted to have kids before it was too late. It's not that we're attracted to fertility, just signs of it. I hope this answers your question0 0 0 0

1 5Its a built in physiological method of how men determine who is the most "suitable" mate. It's not like we see a girl and go "wow she looks fertile". All of those characteristics are signs that the women has gotten a healthy dose of hormones throughout her life and obviously that is necessary for reproduction.
2 0 0 0It's all subconscious, the primal part of them is looking for a woman that meets certain requirements that show she'll be a good mother and good at bearing children. That's why people are (generally) attracted to pretty people- that's good genes and a better chance for their kids to be the Alpha Male/female. There's a good documentary about sexual attraction I can give you the name of if you're really interested in psychology's and genetic play in attraction.
Yeah please zombiefood, could you please give me the name? Thanks!
Sometimes, guys make sh*t up.
3 0 0 0This goes back to prehistoric times. Women with curves (fat deposits) and larger breasts were presumed to be more likely to survive the rigors of pregnancy and life in general... and to be more likely to be able to nourish and sustain children through infancy and toddler-hood.
0 0 0 0uhhhh because it is just because your situation is like this doesn't mean science is wrong, large hips will pass a child easier, large perky breast have more lacteal glands that produce milk you so the likely hood of the child living is a lot higher
0 0 2 0Girl you not the only onei diffintly would like to do one with a hot milf with a nice hot body nice breats everything :)
1 0 0 0While I don't much like going back to primal caveman references, I will on this one.
Consider caveman times, where humans probably weren't expected to live more than about 20-25 or so years. When a girl started going through puberty, she was good to go for carrying children. Along with puberty comes wider hips and larger breasts. Breasts and hips = she's good to go, get to impregnating her. There was none of this "finding the love of your life" stuff, we had a species to continue, and once women hit puberty, their job was to have/raise babies. When you live for 20 years, you really can't bother to wait on having children.2 0 0 0Ahhh life was good back then
