My boyfriend flat out told me he did not want to go down there on me. He said I am clean and he likes kissing me around the area just not the taste. He wouldn't do it for other girls either but it makes me feel so self conscious. Should I be? I shower daily and shave every other day.

You first want to eliminate any cause of bad taste.

A shower does not clean you out inside any more than it eliminates bad breath. There are three things that can be in there that will begin to "ferment" and cause odor. These are older vaginal mucous, pee back washed behind your lips and into your vagina and yesterday's semen. A sit down bath with some soap-less fingering will clean you out, as will a bidet or just pouring rinse water on your Vag and fingering while you sit on the toilet. Dabbing a little mouthwash on your lips externally will help keep you sweet. Do all this and ask him to lick you prior to giving him oral next time. If your need matters to him he will do it even if he doesn't like it much for the pleasure he will give you. I don't remember semen smelling like flowers or tasting like honey, either.

If that doesn't work, you might decide to stop giving him oral as an incentive to lick you. It sounds like he has an aversion to it. If you need it and me won't provide it, it may be time to move on.

No, you shouldn't be self conscious. It's simply preference, most guys dislike giving oral sex because of taste an odor, even if it's just the natural taste and odor.
