Why do some teenagers act like such hard asses? Ladies find this attractive?

I've noticed a trend with teens (and yes, I know I was one too) that goes something like this. (FYI: I do understand that not all teens are like this, the question is aimed at the behavior of a specific group of teenagers...) "Hard ass" demeanor --Walks around with a haughty facial expression, has a condescending tone of voice and has a subtle or mild disrespectful "aloofness" aura. --Answers with one word responses with a tone of "irritation" and usually has a sense of humor that can be taken offensively. --"Mocks" society's implicit rules of common courtesy, for instance, putting great EMPHASIS on things such as "Thank you" "Yes please" "No thank you!" As if being forced to utter them while secretly mocking it. --Usually flippant or brazen especially towards authority (possessing no tact when dealing with police officers, teachers, etc.) --Sarcasm borders on the "smart-alecky" and tries hard to radiate a "carefree" attitude towards life or serious matters. --Shows no remorse or shame when ignorant about worldly topics (for instance, other races and cultures) and even if questioning these things, expresses it with much disdain. "Why do you guys wear Hindu dots? Does the hindu dot ever slide off? Do you have to use Elmer Glue to hold the Hindu dot in place?" <--These are all questions I just made up right now to describe how hard-ass teens will often use undertones of mockery that usually is accompanied by a snobbish smirk. -Acts pretentious about such topics that the hard ass sees as defining his sense of self-worth in a loud and obnoxious manner (topics include, the opposite gender, drugs, alcohol, music) "Yo bro, I f***ed Malory last night dude...God what a f***ing slut dude...bro I did 5 x pills this weekend...dude, I know what Ever Clear tastes like, I took a shot last night straight dude, it f***ed up my throat...bro, did you hear the new Weezy song? Me and my boy little Wayne go back a long way dude!" --Over dramatizes own boisterousness to test the tolerance level of surrounding public "HAHAHAHAHA, f*** YOU DUDE SORRY PEOPLE (people turn around in irritation)...MY FRIEND HE'S GAY...HE JUST TOUCHED MY BALLS...AHH UGGHHH, STOP CHASING ME ASSHOLE!" as if people find this behavior cool or humorous when it isn't. --Sometimes, but not always, a petty thief..stealing a candy bar from the local 7-11 to laugh at how easy it was...before being caught 10 minutes later.. So, I've noticed that lots of these types of teens also dress according to today's latest fashion trends too (again, I'm not trying to be bias) --For instance, sagging really tight pants around thigh area which hangs off ass but stays up with a belt as if forgot to pull up pants after taking a s-h-i-t, has shaggy hair and wears fitted caps tilted sideways) and usually are in the "popular" category of high school social hierarchy. Most of these d bags are surrounded by attractive females their age. My question, what's so "attractive" about this behavior? Maybe I'm just old..

  • Some teenagers like to be considered that type of person; often they get positive response from other teens and are seen as cool or whatever.

At my school, we had all sorts of " bad asses" if you will, from hard core gang bangers, to punked out emo's who looked ready to shoot up the school. It wasn't a huge deal; if you didn't like them, just stay away from them/ don't associate.

Being a teen is also that awkward phase in which kids are still trying to figure themselves out; trying to figure out what they like, over coming peer pressures, realizing who they want to be, finding out what's important, facing rewards and consequences for their actions (experience is the best teacher :D,) the list goes on and on. Some kids need that attention and " dude that's so awesome!" response in order to obtain a sense of self -worth. Sad, but it's a battle some kids go through.

So most kids who act out or act like hard asses, are generally just trying to find a way to fit in to whatever social class they like, but this mindset usually disappears upon graduation, when most kids stop giving a damn about fitting into social groups.

  • most likely these are the guys that have nothing else going for them and this is how they get attention and measure their self worth. I'm pretty sure most girls don't find it attractive unless they're desperate or 14 years old. Most girls think it's annoying and immature lol

  • they want to feel rebellious and special while struggling with getting laid and being annoyingly awkward. or they think theyre the sh*t and don't understand why everyone ignores them or acts like theyre retarded

  • These all indicate a desperate attempt to become the "alpha male" (a.k.a. the strongest, most dominant male) in the environment. It is an animalistic instinct that comes out of insecurity.

Of course, there is a scientific argument that these guys act like "alpha"s because of their high levels of testosterone (actual, scientifically approved side-effect of the sex hormone).

This might be why some girls go for the "jerk"s, for example. However, this is just an argument.

By no means do I support this, or find this acceptable. I'm just stating some facts and opinions regarding the subject, which you might sompletely disagree with. =)
