The other day I was hanging out with my best friend who is a girl (I am a guy). It was late at night and we decided to go swimming, but since her house, where we were is roughly 30 miles from mine. She just moved about a month again so I decided to go swimming in my boxers. Well we got to the river and got in and we were having fun just being friends (we have never been attracted to each other in a sexual way). Well I jumped into the river off of a large rock. When I surfaced from jumping in my boxers had came off. I was not too happy about this, but after not being able to find them after five minutes we gave up trying since we did not think we would find them at night in the river. Well about twenty minutes after we stopped looking for my boxers I got out to go off of the rope swing because I wanted to and I truthfully forgot I was now naked. Well my friend whistled and said something like “hey hot stuff” too me, but in just a playing around way. Well the car which had all of our stuff besides our phones. Well when we got our my best friend looked over at me and after smiling she said “Hey your penis is the size of a banana!” I quickly put my hands over my privates, but what does it mean if she says my penis is the size of a banana? Is that good? Bad? Or what? P.S. It was VERY embarrassing to be naked in front of my best friend who is a girl.

1-) She's your best friend. She wouldn't say anything negative in a case that you are obviously embarassed about.

2-) Considering that a banan is large, it was a compliment.

3-) Dude, of course it is embarassing. What would anyone do in an awkward, silent, embarassing situation? Clear the air with a joke, no matter if it's funny or not. Hence the banana joke (you said she sounded like she was "playing around").

I think she meant it as a compliment. You probably need to disabuse women from the idea that their sexual pleasure is linked to the size of a man's penis! Perhaps many p*rn films also subconsciously promote this view.
