What's so wrong about a womans natural body? I don't understand. Women have only started to shave or wax their pubic hair in recent years. All they used to do was tidy up the edges to wear a bathing suit and I don't think men complained about it? Because it was normal. Now days men get grossed out by hair and think it's dirty and un hygienic when it's not. Hair is there for a reason and it's actually healthier for your vagina to have it there! Only kids don't have hair there and that's how it's suposed to be.

I started growing pubic hair at the age of 13 and recently this year I’ve started shaving it off. Some people will say that it shows more masculinity or femininity the bigger bush it is. But you should feel way more comfortable with it being shaved off. Despite people having the opinion that the more the marier (bush wise), I think that both sides of the party should be shaved. I also understand the argument of “getting a mouthful of hair” is disgusting, which I agree but these problems can be resolved with just shaving the damn thing off. I feel much better after shaving mine off and I’m sure when a female performs oral she probably will too. But the thing is that she’s gonna have to deep throat to reach it. I’m sure most of you can agree that girls should as since *most obviously don’t have a penis* that it’s more enjoyable for both sides. I shave myself completely - not because I think it's 'trendy' but I'm more comfortable that way. When I have hair there it becomes itchy and irritable and it's just not a nice feeling to have. The most common problem the article you posted talks about is scarring; which is a direct result of shaving not hair removal for the most part - and anyway - not that much of a health risk - but an aesthetic problem.

I know a lot of guys who aren't disgusted by pubic hair - it might not be their preference, but if it's there, they won't refuse. I mean, I'm sure there are some guys out there who would, but I know plenty who wouldn't.

I've never met a guy who had problems with a bit of hair, after all, people are not always 'prepared' to have sex, sometimes it just happens, like you go out and meet someone, but orginally you weren't going to hook up with anyone. I like the whole martini glass thing. Once I tried to shave a heart, but it didn't work. Usually I either shave it off completely, or do a thick landing strip, and trim it so it looks neat, not all fuzzy. I don't know why men don't like it, but I don't even like it on my own body. I definitely feel cleaner without full grown bushes. Especially when you're having your period, it can get mighty disgusting with all the long hairs.

I don't mind getting rid of my pubic hair, but I expect my guy to also get rid of his. I don't want accidental flossing.

The only body hair I don't mind living with are my leg hairs. However, tons of people find leg hairs disgusting. It sucks that I still need to shave my hair so I don't disgust people.

I don't know where you got the idea that it's healthier... if anything, it's healthier to not have any hair because not only is it easier to tell if you have some sort of STD like herpes, but you're basically immune to critters like pubic lice.

The change in pubic hair has to do with p*rn - the younger a girl is, the less hair she has. Consider that with the fact that p*rn is only interested in younger girls, and you can see the connection. Me personally, I think a mass of hair is disgusting, mainly because I hate having to pull it out of my teeth/mouth, but being shaved into prepubescence is only slightly better. Trimming is a happy medium.

Only girls below the age of 12 will have no pubic hair naturally. But I started getting it when I was 8. They don't use girls that young for p*rn! Younger women only have less if they shave it off. By that logic, what is the point of having eyebrows, hair on your arms or under your arms? Hair in your nose helps trap large particles, either for sensory (smelling) or to keep them from entering your breathing passages (like dust/dirt), hair in your ears works the same way - look up eustachian tubes, the fate of our evolutionary "gills.". Eyelashes protect your eyes from debris, and can also serve as tactile response. Other than trapping pheromones, pubic hair serves no known purpose.

I will admit, though, that pubic hair could prevent dirt and debris from entering the vagina, but the idea that it prevents bacteria from entering is both absurd and ignorant - bacteria is infinitely small compared to hair, since you can see one clearly with your naked eye and require a high-power microscope for the other. The pH of the vagina naturally controls the levels of bacteria, and changes in that pH give rise to such things as yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis.

Seriously, stop. Hair does not catch bacteria. Take a biology class. In your nose, mucous traps bacteria (for the most part, it's not perfect). Same with the mucous coating the epithelial tissue in your throat. I didn't say hair has only one reason - the hair on your arms and legs trap heat, and exposure to the sun when in large patches. Your skin prevents bacteria from entering your body, but it can enter through a cut.

I challenge you to find any scientific documentation stating that pubic hair is effective in trapping bacteria. I would put money on it, too. The truth is that no one knows what pubic hair does outside of trap debris and pheromones, but there's been no proven correlation between bacterial vaginosis and yeast or trich infections and pubic hair; some don't shave and get them, some shave and never get them. Pubic hair is not there to keep bacteria out of the vagina. If that was the case, baby girls would be born with it and puberty wouldn't cause very similar hair to grow in the armpits. Male and female humans have hair that grow in the pubic region and the armpits because these areas have a specific kind of sweat glands that secrete substances involved in attracting mates. (Proto-pheremones and other molecules.) The hairs help disperse those molecules into the air.

I'm in my mid 30's. Shaved was sort of a novelty when I was growing up, and at first I found it cool and sexy - only very sexual women did it. But the novelty wore off.

I've heard older men (then me) say they're turned on by a woman's pubic hair. When they were kids (and when I was pretty young) seeing a woman's hair was an exciting glimpse of something, not something shocking and horrible.
