Though I'm not a girl... I grew up Catholic so initially was taught to feel "guilty" about this. Fortunately, I read some books which explained that it was quite natural. It has helped me through many years to stay out of complications, out of sexual disease, and out of needlessly abusing someone else. I think everyone needs to masturbate once in a way... as other posters noted, it makes us feel calm and de-stressed.

Don't feel guilty anymore, used to. Probably would feel guilty if I did it with just someone for being dumb, it has never happened but just saying. It relaxes and calms me, and it allows me to fall asleep when I'm too stressed.
