What is the difference between a MILF and a cougar?

  • MILF is an acronym for 'Mother I'd Like to F*ck,' and basically any mother whose pregnant or has a kid can qualify as a MILF if they are found to be attractive.

    ie) Stacy's mom is so hot! She's such a MILF!

    A cougar on the other hand, is a woman who is attracted or flirts with those that are younger than her.

    ie) Demi Moore is a cougar! She married 27-year old Ashton Kutcher at age 42.

  • As others have said, cougar speaks to the age spread between the woman and the man, MILF just means she has kids. If I'm 40 and my wife is 35, she might be a MILF, but not a cougar. Heck, I could be 40 and date an 18 year old mother and she'd be a MILF. A 27 year old woman without kids who dates 20 year old college guys probably scrapes in as a cougar ... just ;)

  • Milf has kids. Cougar doesn't necessarily have kids.

    A Milf can be an object of fantasy for a younger guy, but she may not be interested in younger guys.

    A Cougar is an older woman who *is* into younger guys. She may not be a milf though.

  • MILF = Mothers I'd Like to F*ck. So a milf is (basically) just a fantasy in some guy's head.

    A cougar is any woman who is actually into younger boys, not necessarily f*cking them, but still wants them. She may be a mom and she may not be one.

  • A cougar is usually willing to get involved with a younger guy (aka cub), while a MILF is just a younger guy being attracted to an older woman.

  • A cougar is an older woman who dates younger guys. A mild is a hot woman with children. An 18 year old can be a milf a cougar is usually in there 40s and above. Maybe 35 and above as long as they like dating younger guys.

    Either way, they are not really negative terms and can be a compliment.
