Girls : does your vagina get looser after you lose your virginity?

well I've heard different things, some websites say a girl does not get looser but some say it gets looser after the hymen breaks but I don't understand the whole hymen thing, could someone explain? like what is the hymen? what does it look like? does the shape or look of the vagina change after it is broken? and when you lose your virginity does your vagina become loose? just a little curious :) thanks

  • No it doesn't. The hymen is really on the outside part of the vagina. It's a thin layer of skin around the opening. Some girls are born without one or break it on tampons or sports or bike riding before ever having sex. You bleed if you break it the first time you have sex, which often happens but also may not depending on your sex position, how far you put it in, how much pressure you use, etc. Mine broke the first time I had sex and I'm still very tight but there isn't as much blockage "around" mine if that makes sense. It's like unclogging a drain or something..I can't think of a good example but basically the vagina is the same size but there's nothing blocking the way into it which the hymen kind of does.

It just looks like skin I guess. Your vag will be a little more visible in the mirror after your hymen breaks but it is not looser at all. It is a muscle that can greatly contract and relax..expand during sex or even childbirth and then gets tight all over again. Although having children may make it slightly looser in the long run, it will not become looser from a girl losing her virginity. Especially if she only had sex once or twice..even if her hymen broke it will be the same size.

  • The hymen is sort of near the outside opening of the vagina (well it is part of the vagina). It is like the bottle cap for girls. The change of how it looks on the outside doesn't change, that would be just hormones or natural growth is not defined by having sex. The hymen is opened enough in a way that if pressure is applied, like even from riding horses, it can open. It's just the vagina walls pressed against each other and will not be touching each other after it breaks.

The shape, look, and smell will not be change. It only becomes loose if one puts something in bigger than it is constantly. Sometimes it tightens back up again after inactivity down there or for some people after a period.

    • ah thank you :) you've gave me A LOT of peace at mind :) only thing I'm down about now is another guy who lives down my road had sex with my girlfriend 3 days into our relationship and it was how she lost her virginity :/ 3 months later the guys mates tell me.. haha.. :'(

    • I'm sorry that happened to you. You should dump her since she didn't told you how she lost her virginity. However make sure it's not some sick joke or that the guy lied. It's better to find out now than later down the road that she cheated on you. She's a whore. Sex should be passionate and it's unfair that guys are constantly have temptations that they want to have sex (with their girlfriend or anyone else) but it's forgivable if the girl happened to be "vulnerable" and sleep with someone else.

    • Basically what she did loses the term "girlfriend", why being in a relationship if they had to hide and worst, never confront you with it and still committed an intimate activity with someone when she had you already.

  • Nope it does not get looser with loss of vitginity. Most don't get loose after child birth. But I heard race and ethnicity might have something to do with it. Kegel excersices can always help to ensure tightness.

  • The hymen is a thin, elastic membrane of skin with a small hole in the center that covers the opening of the vagina. Imagine a toilet paper tube (vagina) with a layer of baloon (hymen) stretched across the opening, and a hole about the size of an M&M. For most women, the hymen will stretch a bit, but usually not enough to accomidate a penis, so during her (usually) first penetration, the hymen will rupture and tear in several places.

Many people incorrectly refer to this as making the vagina looser, but the vagina itself is the same. It's just that the "seal" has been broken. A virgin may feel "tight" when you are pushing against her hymen, but it is the hymen, and not the vagina, that feels that way.

    • so it is a different feel when having sex for the man?

    • Well, assuming your hymen is intact, the first time a guy enters you, he's going to feel your hymen blocking his way, and he will have to push through it to rupture it. Once it's been torn, he won't experience that again, obviously. And it's not like it lasts through a session of sex; it normally tears upon initial penetration, and that's it. In some cases, the hymen can stretch enough to accomidate the penis for the first time or two, but that's the exception.
