Also, a lot of people don't know this, but you could actually get some pretty bad bacteria transferred to you through sex. Certain bacterias for example, can actually cause cancer. They're not STDs, but they're still dangerous. My sister had a bad bacterial growth on her uterine wall that they had to remove...she most likely got it from sex. So I guess a condon wouldn't necessarily protect you from that.

HPV isn't a bacteria, it's a virus. And you can get it through oral sex too, which is generally unprotected. You can get vaccinated for it though, which I highly recommend because going for a cervical biopsy isn't fun. There's my public service announcement for the day.
Make sure he is clean for STDs and that you are definitely monogamous, and remember that a condom plus birth control is like a double blanket, I'm sure you won't get pregnant with it, but if you only are on birth control and aren't extremely careful with your doses you never know, and there isn't that double protection layer. Birth control is I believe 98% effective and condoms are 99%
birth control if used properly is that effective but it does have over a 20% fail rate
