Do you think professors check out their students?

Question

Do you think male college professors are checking out their female students and sometimes wanting them, even if they'd never go for it for a combination of reasons such as getting their career kicked and/or cheating on a spouse?Do you think a lot of professor-student flings happen?Do you think some might like their attractive female students better?

I had a professor last year who was always making comments about how "pretty the girl with the blue ribbon in her hair was" (aka. me). He was always asking me to come down to the board to work problems and that I could come to his office for more help. I never went alone. The weirdest thing was when he asked me why I stopped wearing make-up! He was creepy.

I'm sure teacher/student flings happen all the time. And I'm sure students that the professor find to be attractive are at a bit of an advantage. Of course, there are some girls who use that to get ahead in classes, as well.

Of course professors check out their students. They're still human---being a professor doesn't inhibit your ability to find people attractive, regardless of if the're your students or not.

As for the other two questions, I'm sure it happens, but I'm not sure of the extent.

I check out all my female students, it keeps me alert in class.  I wouldn't dream of having a fling with them, but let's face it, a fair number have father issues and they will flirt prety brazenly with their professors.   And some of my colleagues have a thing for younger women...We try to tell them this will blow up in their face eventually, but they rarely listen.

Yes to all of the above. At the grad student level (when its more acceptable) prof-student relationships are quite common.

Yes, theyre human too... I have two professors and they are in a relationship with ex-students of them :/

I think most proffesors don't. But you might find some who will find a student attractive because she might remind him of some old relationship when he was a student ! ;)

Put men around women and they'll check them out. Put women around men and they will use their sexuality to manipulate them. Put lungs in air and they will breath. That's how nature works.
