Why do guys think push up bras are fake boobs?

I don't get that thinking; if a girl is an A - cup naturally...she's still an A - cup in a push up bra lol. She can' t wear a B cup, or a C cup, or a DD cup - because she's an A - cup. And will always be an A - cup until she gets plastic surgery or something. Push up bra's do not magically make your boobs bigger or add more tissue / fat to your boobs somehow lol - all they do is push all of YOUR cleavage up. I mean, we're talking about two lumps of heavy weight on the front of your chest - gravity is naturally going to tug on them and put stress on the muscle beneath them. All push up bra's do is give that extra boosts against gravity and support - and lifts up ALL of what's YOUR breast tissue. You don't suddenly go from an A - cup to a B - cup lol - what guys see when a girl wears a push - up bra is all her. The push up bra's just make them sit higher and appear more perky - and create a cleavage line. Girls with naturally big chest wear them too - they give great support and girls with bigger chest experience more pull so some extra support is always nice.

  • I can kind of see why someone might think it's false advertising. But there are different types of push up bras. Some are just sewn to lift boobs up and shape them differently where others have lots of extra padding.

Still though, its not the same as fake boobs one gets from a surgeon. The boobs are still real whether they are in a regular bra or a push up.

My room-mate has these Victoria secret push up bras that are mostly padding. I was looking at it, and I guess it's just the style they make. I've seen bras like this in other stores too, so I can see why someone would say it was false advertising if the bra had a lot of padding in it. But they can't say it's fake boobs, I think that is going a bit far.

I wouldn't worry about a guy saying that though. It's a really superficial thing for someone to worry about. I had guys tell me my boobs must be fake since they are so big. Ya okay, like some people have small boobs naturally, others have big boobs naturally. Everyone is different, someone is always going to call something fake. My hair has also been called fake because no one can believe I am naturally blond. Some people are just petty.

    • Lol true - ugh my bestie gets that all the time too about her naturally big boobs. Like really?

  • As a woman with B cup breasts I completely agree with what you're saying IF the bra is lightly-lined and pushes up the breasts using an underwire. However, the Bombshell by Victoria's Secret (as well as the UpBra) have additional padding that your natural breasts do not have so that is fake. You're adding extra material to the breasts. To prove my point - put on a Bombshell bra and feel the difference. The bra makes your boobs 1-2 cup sizes bigger because it adds material underneath the boob creating the illusion that your boob fills the entire bra when half the bra is actually padding. So yes push-up bras are fake unless it's simply the underwire pushes them up.

  • Because push up bras make your boobs LOOK bigger and then they take them off and your boobs just fall (or aren't there at all, depending on your boob size).

I like to call them strap on boobs, because the all the padding is, is boob you don't have. Sure, you are the same bra size, but your boobs look significantly different in a push up than one without padding.

Then again, I think that guys need to be realistic enough to know that no girls boobs are naturally up to their neck...

    • They make your boobs look like they would if all your natural fat and boob tissues were being well supported. Even if you wear a normal bra according to that - then your boobs look bigger lol. No girl has boobs perfectly like how bra's make them - but your size is still your size. If I'm an A - cup - I can't get away withwearing a C - cup push up because it's too big - if your small your small - a push up isn't going to change that.

    • It's not going to change the size of your boobs. They change the size in which they look. Like those VS push ups that add "two cup sizes", it doesn't mean you suddenly wear a C, it means your A boobs will look like C's. And when you take the bra off, they will go back to looking like A's. People should be fine with what they have and shouldn't feel the need to add extra padding to their boobs.

  • Yeah it's stupid isn't it? I always thought it was stupid. Some people are really hung up on HONESTY, though. Their like, deluded idea of honesty, whereupon the form is not altered in any way from it's natural state, whereupon makeup is DECEIT, push up bras are DECEIT, even straightening your hair is DECEIT. I couldn't be that way, living in constant fear of my lover not being as attractive in the morning as I thought she might be.

    JESUS.

Anyway, don't worry about it. I like the effect of a push up bra =]

    • Thank you for best answer ^_^

  • You're not pushing up much when you got A's I'll give you that. You can push them where ever you want they're not going far. I think what bothers guys is when girls do stuff like this: link It's a lie, and that was the intent.

    • Thank you - that's what I'm saying. And ouch lol - I don't know how her breast are breathing having the life squeezed out of them from all those bra's :\ but yea - that's taking it more to the extreme. Just like girls stuffing their bra's

    • Yeah. If you're just wearing one bra push up or not it's still obvious you have A's or B's. Nothing wrong with that either. Breast are not a big deal to me. It's when girls try too hard and get too fake. That does bother me.

    • totally agree - I think it's sad when girls just can't accept their normal cup size. I don't have huge boobs but it's not the end of the world if your flat chested lol

  • I think it might just make it seem slightly disappointing when a push up bra comes off... :P

    • It's disappointing when any bra comes off lol - unless she walks around with no bra on - all bra's give support so when the straps are undone - our boobs will naturally droop like they're suppose to. But you can still naturally tell an A - cup from a C - cup lol - braless or not. So it makes no sense that there's " dissappointment." An A - cup girl in an A - cup push up - is not going to have boobs like a C - cup girl in a C- cup push up lol

    • "it's disappointing when any bra comes off" You f***ing kidding me? lol no guy is thinking 'wow how disapointing' they are thiking 'boobies in my face ohhh yeahhh!'

    • kain ha ha yea I know, which is why I don't get the disappointing thing to begin with - unless he's a serious cut throat boob man then okay lol

  • because a push up bra is like a bag of potato chips you open it up and half of its gone.

  • A water bra is fake though I can see someone feeling that the push up bra is false advertisment.

    • False advertising lol? If she's an A - cup - a push up bra isn't going to magically make her a C - cup ha ha. Your going to know she's small chested still - unless she's wearing a c - cup pushup stuffed with toilet paper - but that's obviously being false if she's usin TP to make up for no fat / breast tissue. Push ups don't give you fat / breast tissue you don't have - they just lift what you naturally have that gravity pulls down.

    • False advertisement as in regards to perky/saggy breasts. Didn't say that applies to myself, just what others might think.

    • Oh yea well - some guys do like em perkier - but doesn't make em bigger lol

  • "Push up bra's do not magically make your boobs bigger"

No, but they certainly make them LOOK bigger.

    • What your LOOKing at - is all of her cleavage. If a girl takes of her bra and she's an A - cup - puts her fingers under her boobs and pushes them up...they're still an A - cup but since all her natural tissues / fats in her breast are being supported - the fullness your seeing is still fully her. The padding in push up bra's are so minimal - and put at the bottom of the bra to push all of her full clevage up. It's not in front of the bra to add fake girth -

    • No. I'm sorry, but a woman looks COMPLETELY different without a bra then she does with a push up.

    • Regular A - cup Bra - link

Push up A - cup Bra - link

C - cup - no push up, no regular bra - just thin bikini link

  • i think that is only a very small minority who believes that...and some people believe things that are far more ridiculous than that

  • any guy who thinks that is stupid... now I think some guys might get tired and be fooled in to thinking a girl has some clevage if she allways wears pushup bras and when it all comes off there's not much there.

  • i never said they were..

    • not every guy - but when thinks like wanting a girl to be natural gets brought up - a lot of dudes throw in her wearing push - up bra's as being fake?

  • I don't think about it and I don't care..not really into boobs at all...(:

  • It's just a little deceptive imho and it makes me wonder if she's insecure about her boobs that she needs one of those.

But w/e if that's what you wanna wear, no biggie.

    • Maybe - they don't make your boobs super huge lol if she's a small A - cup, she'll still be pretty small.

  • It’s not fake, it’s just a good impression. Making ur self look bigger than you are some might think that false adverting or deception. But you have something to make you look bigger in a simple non permanent way why not. It’s like wearing makeup. Now if u stuff ur bra that is fake.

  • I don`t have problem with push up bras, fake boobs are the one that you have to go to the doctor for

  • It is just like you are stuffing your bra.

  • I have NO problem with push up bras! I like the effect they have on the boobage. ESPECIALLY if they're a nice big pair to begin with. You can always tell when it's just a pair of A's being hoisted up as best they can.

  • Personally, I don't see why girls would want to wear a push-up bra in the first place...why, so when a cute guy thinks you have a nice rack, and then things happen, he gets your bra off and it's a disappointment...I don't want to be a disappointment when I'm naked, I think it just sets you up for failure. If you don't have big boobs, you don't have big boobs.

  • what I think guys mean by "fake boobs" is that it is sort of false advertisement. they see such cleavage and expect more than what she really has and end up disappointed.

i personally prefer smaller boobs, but eh everyone is different.
