Why muscles are so important to attract girls?

Why do muscles are so important to attract girls, and why girls attract to man muscles? I am not talking about hug muscles, just toned body, shape body.

Of all the thing that I think its important to attract women, I think my fitness doesn't help much. Sure, being fit and strong give me "guy" confidence, but I don't remember a girl ever said she is attracted to me because of my muscle during a date. It something that surprise them during the make out session.

If you can make them laugh, show that you have a good heart and really respect them, you are about 90% of the way there. When I say respect them, I mean you have to feel the respect, not pretend it. Most guy don't know the differences. If you don't respect their intelligent, belief, and value; you might as well not even try.

Well, why are guys attracted to girls that are toned and in good shape? Because being a fat slob is usually a turn off to most people. If you want to say, "People should just focus on the personality", well, that's not plausible as humans have turns ons and turn offs, it's natural. Also, if you believe that the person's personality is all that matters, then it must work both ways.

Why are a trim waist, curvy hips, and big boobs so important to guys? Beyond being eye candy just like muscles can be, they all act as evolutionary cues. The curvy hourglass figure is an indication that a woman is fertile and probably hasn't reproduced with another man. A man who is toned and look strong looks like someone who could provide for and protect his family.

I do like muscles. I think it's because we can visually see mens' strength. We know they can protect us. For me, I find myself more attracted to lanky guys. I'm not sure why. Muscles are nice, but not crazy muscles. I think (as others have said below) that it's a sign that he takes some care of his body.

Muscles aren't necessarily important but it's nice to know that a guy has muscles because it shows that he takes care of himself & that he's probably strong.

Men and women like different things. Muscle tone is one thing that a lot of women happen to like.

It's just what they're drawn to. Guys have certain things they prefer girls to have. Girls have things other than muscles that they would prefer, like money. Having a very muscular body is just icing on the cake to them.
