Does it mean anything when a girl is "dirty minded" around a guy?

I just thought this was a bit funny. I know we are all capable of having a dirty mind, some people more than others and usually when you are somewhat comfortable or are friends with a person of the opposite gender, making sexual jokes is easier. I usually try to stay away from them (especially around women) because it just isn't my kind of humor. There's this girl I like and she is one of those people who you think there's no way can be dirty minded or make any sexual comments because she doesn't. Maybe if a person MAKES the joke she will find it funny and make a comment but that's it. However, the other day we were just talking and having a lot of fun (I could just tell because she was giddier than usual) so I happened to mention the word "balls", because we live in a touristy town and we get a lot of golfers and how they lose their balls a lot. I didn't mean to say it in a "dirty" way but she started grinning and had this big smile on her face and I knew exactly what she was thinking about and I tried to "change" the word, but she said she has a dirty mind and would think the same way no matter what term was used. My question is, what makes a girl be that "open" with the sexual innuendo? It may have been an innocent joke but the fact that she told me about it makes me wonder what was she really thinking, was she "enjoying" my company that much or something? lol. I have never heard her say things like that, so it came as a bit of a surprise lol.
