Which is better, circumcised vs uncircumcised?

Pros and cons to circumcised and uncircumcised. girls which do you prefer? Guys, what are the benefits of each?

  • Uncircumcised is much better. I know a lot of guys including myself that are having a lot of problems because of it. When I was younger my pants rubbing against the uncovered head would bother me in public causing me a lot of embarrassment. After years of chafing I lost almost all feeling in my penis, until I started tugging in order to restore my foreskin. I have to constantly keep myself covered now, or I will chafe and lose feeling again. A lot of men are having the same problem and have no idea what is wrong with them. They just assume that is is a normal part of getting older.

    Men that have been circumcised after adulthood can not agree on how it effected them. It clearly effects every man differently. It is best for a man to make the decision for himself. I will hate my mother until the day they die for what she had done to me. How could she deny me my the right to my own body? Then I have to listen to women complain about how no one should be able to tell a woman what to do with her body. Doesn't that sound a little hypocritical?

    It is not healthier either. The myth about it reducing things like infection and stuff is based on ignorance. After all, if you amputate any part of the body, then nothing will be able to happen to that body part. That isn't a good enough reason to just start cutting of body parts without getting that persons permission. They are now claiming to have done a study that finally proved that a circumcised man is less likely to get HIV. What they don't tell you is that that same study showed that women who have sex with a circumcised man are far more likely to get HIV. In fact the number of women that were infected, were much higher than the number of men that it would supposedly save. So to be in favor of circumcision is to be in favor of spreading HIV in women.

    • The last part actually doesn't surprise me. The guy gets less tears with the lack of mobile skin and increased keratinzation - but he's going to consequently cause more microtears.

    Pros of uncircumcised:

    - its natural

    - it makes masturbation or handjobs without lube easier and better

    - it provides a little more of a 'rolling' feel with less friction during sex, so less likely to create soreness.

    - some people like the look

    - maybe more sensitive

    Pros of circumcised

    - for me (and quite a few others) direct, lubricanted stimulation on the head feels better then it used to. I didn't find it uncomfortable exactly (some guys do) but it was 'very intense'. Now its just awesome

    - probably easier for blowjobs

    - less natural smell. I'm assuming everyone's bathing plenty - this isn't an 'unclean smell' issue. But uncircumcised traps precum more and slow releases the musky smell. If you like that, its hot, if you grew up thinking penises shoudn't smell at all, its probably offputting.

    - more direct friction during sex. For a woman who enjoys that it may feel more intense.

    - maybe slightly better control, but we're talking 10% difference, not like double.

    - some people prefer the look.

    Overall I've been happy with it. My partner prefers it. Others may feel the other way. There are advantages to each.

    • Boredom? uh, more seriously, my wife asked if I'd ever considered it when we were first dating. I really hadn't,but I did, eventually decided I would get it done (after a few years) but for financial reasons had to wait. Last year I got an OHIP covered vasectomy and had it done at the same time since I only had to pay the incremental. I hadn't really had significant problems, it was just something I decided to do.

  • I was circumcised at birth so I don't know what its like to be uncircumcised. However I won't change that fact. It's never been troublesome in anyway. I think looks better anyway.

    I'm not sure how this would effect sex but personally I feel like sex would be much better and easier for both parties if the guy was circumcised, but I'm just speculating.

    • The foreskin naturally pulls back when aroused fully or during the in stroke during sex. It is only during oral sex and when applying a condom that you have to manually pull back the skin. So over all it makes little to no difference. Some girls clain that the slight thickness at the tip from the extra skin feels better. As I am a male and not a female I could not tell ya, and like you I was cut up at birth and know no different.

  • Circumsicion is male genital mutilation -- though nobody calls it that yet! It denies a woman the sexual pleasure she can get from an uncircumscised pen*s and also desensitises the male organ for him.

    • Although it is easier to clean and take care of a penis that has been circumcised. It is also a religious rite of passage. You are right in that there is no medical reason that it needs to be done other then it is more painful and prone to infection on an adult.
