Both guys and girls, does cumming equals orgasm?

Question says it all. I've been having sex (but not active) for 4 years now yet I don't think I've ever reached an orgasm, nor that I come. In fact I don't know if I did ever come. Guys, when you say you're coming does that mean you're reaching orgasm? And after you come do you pull out or do you prefer to stay in and keep thrusting in?

  • Sort of like dragan is saying. Technically by definition they are different, however in the real world, they mean the same thing. When a guy says he's cumming, he means he's about to orgasm, which also means he's going to come (ejaculate) since both happen simultaneously.

It's the same for women, however, the word come is being used much less literally. Most women don't come in the traditional sense that actual physical cum/fluid comes out in mass, like it does for men. Some women do excrete more vaginal fluid, sometimes in force (squirting) but its rare, only some women can do it, and it usually requires a certain type of stimulation unique to that women.

So men and women both orgasm, and "cumming" is basically a slang term used to mean that. The only difference is with men, actually fluid is ejaculated upon orgasm.

As far as you not knowing if you have orgasmed, if you don't know, most likely you haven't. It's a physically and mentally euphoric feeling that can be so intense it literally makes your body shake and convulse. For women it lasts about 30seconds and then you'll usually return to a more stable level or arousal until another orgasm is reached (if at all). Men it only lasts about 10seconds, and we don't return to a stable level of arousal. We pretty much hit rock bottom. This rock bottom means two things.

Mentally we lose our sexual energy, almost completely. Basically we're just not horny anymore. We almost feel shame in what we just did. Physically or penis basically becomes numb yet sensitive at the same time. It's similar to chafed skin. It's extremely sensitive, but not in a good way, we don't feel any more pleasure for about 20-30min minimum. Until then it can also be hard to maintain an erection. Many guys can maintain enough of an erection and fight through the lack of stimulation for a few more minutes so they can keep thrusting for the sake of the girl, but most guys won't do this unless they know they just came way to early, or that the girl is clearly about to orgasm. 90% of the time, when a guy orgasms, he stops.

Just as a side note, many people are talking about the ability to orgasm but not ejaculate. First of all, this is a tough skill and most guys if not all, at your age are not doing this. I also feel that unless you ejaculate you really aren't experiences a full orgasm, what you are really doing is stopping yourself right as its starting without seeing it through. It's impossible to have a full orgasm and not ejaculate.

  • Cumming is not same as orgasm. Orgasm and ejaculation are two separate things. For most men, ejaculation and orgasm occur simultaneously. If a man has more ejaculations in a short time, each of the following will be with weaker orgasm. The third or fourth ejaculation will be, without an orgasm. That really annoyed me, when I was a teenager. Later I learned tantra. I separated the orgasm from ejaculation. This is the only way for male multiple orgasms during one lovemaking.

The strength of orgasm it does not depend on ejaculation, so it is possible that the third and fourth orgasms are stronger than the first and second.

After making love I like to stay in a while.

    • I love it when a guy stays in and lays his whole body on me ugh its such a turn on!

    • I love it too.

  • Yes, "cumming" is just a slang for orgasm.

My opinion? If you don't know whether you've had an orgasm or not - most likely you haven't. Orgasms don't typically slip by with the recipient unaware.

  • They're not exactly the same thing, but 99% of the time they happen simultaneously. Cumming is more referred to as ejaculating, whereas orgasm is more the pleasurable feeling.

It is possible for a guy to ejaculate without an orgasm (mainly if stimulation of the penis comes to a halt right before the orgasm) or orgasm without ejaculation (if he recently ejaculated a few times already).
