Do women support Circumcision because they want to control/diminish Men?

I read this post..looks like by a woman..on a health board..can't say it didn't make me think...I;ve thoguh about restoring my foreskin before...but deabted it and decided not to..now I might think about it again. I like the hygenics of being cut but I hate the idea of being emsasculated and less of sexual being as I get less pleasure. "'The point: male circumcision gives women sexual power over men. The reason? Circumcision massively decreases the sensitivity of the penis and makes it much harder to masturbate. Therefore, men only get real sexual satisfaction from vaginal penetration. The woman decides whether this happens, so the woman has control. Justification? - people like sarah jessica parker are always complaining that US guys try to stick their tongue down your throat on the 1st date, and bed you on the second. US teenagers are obsessed with 'getting laid.' Europeans are so much more emotionally sensitive they say. that's because they're more physically sensitive as well! This is also why guys marry younger in the US than in Europe - regular vaginal sex without a condom - which reduces sensitivity even more. Last century, people thought masturbation was really bad, therefore it was suppressed. Teenage girls were controlled psychologically - told their genitals were shameful and dirty, and that only immoral women masturbated. Teenage boys were controlled by circumcision - promoted by a guy called John Harvey Kellogg - he said it should be done without any pain relief, and that it worked for the reasons listed above. However, in 2004 masturbation is promoted. one in 3 women in the US owns a vibrator - you can give yourself a massively intense, rapid, easy orgasm whenever you want - no man needed. John Harvey Kellogg would turn in his grave! Men still get circumcised though - surely not fair! Why does it still happen? - power. Last night I was in a bar and some sexist bozo fondled my ass. Was I angry? - no, I smiled sweetly to myself and remembered that the female sex got its revenge in on this guy the day he was born. Totally and utterly emasculated - condemned to a lifetime of unsensitivity and dificult masturbation - by a woman. Feminists like Andrea Dworkin often say the penis is a weapon that men use against women. Well - cut part of it off when he's defenceless and maybe you feel a lot better. We all have female friends who told us when we were pregnant how we 'MUST' have our baby boy circumcised - why? - this was the only time in their lives they would have total, ultimate power over a man's penis. The next time some circ'ed guy aggressively claims on this board how he really enjoys sex? - Just think - would he really want to believe that actually, women decided the day he was born to put a MASSIVE limit on how much he would EVER enjoy sex? - I think not. • The push for circumcision by default in western culture started just after WWII, with the first wave of post-war medical and technological breakthroughs, and the real beginnings of social science and sexual studies. Simply put, a very small number of doctors (who were MALE; female doctors were quite rare at the time) proclaimed that being uncircumcised was a health risk, and in the 1940s and 50s, few people questioned doctors, who were assumed to be right and noble by most people.

As time went on, and as these studies got published outside of medical journals, circumcision by default became the standard, especially in the US. It caught on in Europe for a while, but there, it didn't take nearly as long for more studies to be done that debunked the myths started by that original US study, and circumcision by default started falling out of favor in the 1980s, while in the US, the practice is only now starting to be widely questioned. It's still the de facto standard, but there has been some movement over the last decade away from it. Some of the doctors in these newer studies have been women, BTW.

So, no, I don't believe feminists had much if anything to do with this practice. It was simply one of many "new" (at the time) practices that came out of early, limited studies and possibly by doctors with an agenda (after all, circumcision was a billable practice), that just took far too long to be debunked and widely questioned in the US.

It's never been hard to find a doctor or three to sign off on a questionable medical procedure if it would put dollars into their pockets. Sure, most doctors may decline, but there are more than enough exceptions. Just look at late-night TV ads.

  • "Circumcision massively decreases the sensitivity of the penis and makes it much harder to masturbate. Therefore, men only get real sexual satisfaction from vaginal penetration."

I am circumcised and I can say without a doubt that all of that is untrue. I know circumcision decreases sensitivity, but it still feels great, it's not hard to masturbate, and I don't need a vagina for sexual gratification.

If a girl (or guy) thinks that way, she is sorely mistaken.

    • did you get circumcised as and adult though? I mean I think I feel fine and I was circed but had it done as a baby so I relaly can't compare

  • Ahaha no. People support circumcision mostly because they believe a lot of myths about uncut penises (or for religious/traditional reasons). Women may be more likely to believe the myths because they generally don't have penises and know less about them.

    • yes but I feel like women deifntiely gloat over it

    • Who? The woman (if it is a woman) who wrote that? As a general rule: take conspiracy theory rants with a grain of salt.

    • well I mean if it results in less pleasure though how could women help but feel superior to men..hoenstly I don't like the idea that all girls know my gentials were cut and altered while there's were left alone.

  • nope they don't want to control men. My sons will be cut because after doing research on the matter it lowers the risks of many diseases and health issues in boys/girls and its much cleaner.

    • the bnefits are not cosndiere major though...infac tthe AAP doenst recommend circumcision they just ssy parents can decide to...are you worried your sons might loose sexual pelasure when they get older?

    • There are plenty enough men in this world who are cut who have plenty of pleasure during sex. my sons will be fine

    • some have issues in odl age...but also...evne if he has "plenty"...are you aoky talking a lot from him? I ean there are men who have gotten cut in old age and then think it was horrible msitake and say it reduces their pleasure big time..cut men who get cut as babies might feel fine but they don't have anything to compare it to...they don't know that theyre missing alot..but often men cut as aduts do know the difference.

  • I dont think that many women think this way though i understand the point.

  • I oppose male genital mutilation. If I will have a son, I would never force him to undergo it. I also believe that it's very important to educate people about health consequences of MGM, to help eliminating it.

  • You keep posting circumcision questions. Don't you think you should take this up with the government instead?

    • what do you mean..they can't help me.

    • You want a ban on circumcision. Take it out on the government.

    • that will be great if enough morons get behind it and actually pass some ridiculous crap like that. its not like it would be a religious thing or lead to it being done illegally. hope that there are not enough morons like the QA
