How can a girl have 34 inch bustline and a 26 inch waist to be considered a 34 dd in the bra size?

I just want to know how can a girl have 34 inch bustline and a 26 inch waist to be considered a 34 dd in the bra size? What would a ribcage would be like if her waist is 26 inches around and her bust 34 inches around?

  • You don't measure the waist to determine bra size. Those measurements are close to mine i'm 36-26-36

You measure right underneath the breasts to get your band size, mine's is 26 (if it's an odd # add an inch).

Then you measure around the biggest part of your chest, and subtract that from the band measurement. So for example my band measurement is 27 and my cup measurement is 36 so that would be a 9 inch difference.
Each inch represents a cup, 1=A cup etc;, which would give me a 34DDD+..

Now that's the way i've always heard but it just makes no sense to me! I've never thought my boobs were that big so i heard another method where you add 5 inches to your band size then subtract that from the cup size, which would give me a 36C which makes a lot more sense..

  • Waist has nothing to do with it. She needs to take her underbust measurement (around her ribcage directly under her boobs). That will be her band size. Then, lean over so your chest is at a 90 degree angle and take your bust measurement (in this case 34"). Now, for example, if her underbust measures at 28 inches, and her bust at 34 inches, she will be a 28DD or 28F.

Is this the same girl who has asked variations of this question several times before? if so, I suggest you head over to r/ABraThatFits on reddit because they'll be able to help you a lot more than the teenage girls on here, 90% of whom are wearing the incorrect bra size and wouldn't recognize a properly fitting bra if they saw one.

    • No it is not! I am looking at this girl size that I find out on the net, what so happen to be 34 inches around her breast, so her ribcage will have to be 28 inches around in order her to be a 34 dd?

  • Um if you are wearing a bra with a 34 in waistband and your bustling is 34 then you would have no boobs haha

Bras are measured by measuring the rib cage right underneath the breasts, say 34

And then measuring the bustline, say 37

    37-34=3

A difference of 3 inches means said person would be a C cup so they wear a 34C

Bra sizes have no relation to your waist size because your bra doesn't go around your waist, it goes around your rib age where your breasts are

    • If a girl is wearing 34dd, then she should have a 34 in ribcage because the number in front of the letter is the circumference of your ribcage and dd means there is a 5 inch difference between the ribcage measurement and bust measurement meaning that her bustline is measured at 38

    • Yeah that's the confusing part. They say her bust measurements is 34 around the bust area so what that would make her ribcage to be if that is her measurements around the bust in order to get a 34 dd?

    • who says this? and I answered that in my previous comment if she has a 34 inch bustline then it is impossible for her to be wearing a 34dd read my comments please dd means her bustline is 5 inches larger than her ribcage but! 34dd means that her ribcage is 34 and if her ribcage AND bustline are both 34 then that is a difference of 0, meaning she is an 34aa
