Girls: do you prefer sensitive guys or machos?

if you had to choose between a macho and a sensitive guy, which one would you pick? (I know most girls prefer a guy "in the middle", but I want to know which one of the 2 you prefer.) are you more into the james blunt/jonas brothers type of guy or are you more into the vin diesel/eminem type of guy?

  • Ok, a Vin Diesel might be cute. The tall dark and strong guy. lol (He's not handsome to me. Eminem seems like a wimp to me.) Anyway, I like a guy to be "strong" and protective but have a side in which he can be 'himself' which is human and real. I found that my ex felt like he had two personalities at a time in our relationship. When I first knew him, he seemed (well he is) like a cute nice guy and was very sensitive and easily opened up. But when I got to meet his family (brothers) and some of his friends, he was really annoying. I hated how he always had to curse, spit, show that he was tough and diss out people in order for people to like him. It was one of the things I hated about him because I felt like he had to make a show in order to be a 'man' when he could be a nice guy and be tough... not a jerk!

  • I would say neither Vin Diesel or Eminem

But I do prefer they "tough guy" because I have a pretty overpowering dominant personality, if they don't then it just won't work, Ill start to feel like the man lol.

But like, a sensitive guy in my books could be considered tough. Its all about being able to balance with me, I dated a guy who wrote beautiful songs, love songs, but man could he put me in my place when I needed it lol (Not physically of course, but you know).

I need a guy that has the potential to overpower me, or else I will never become submissive, and in good relationships, your partner should be able (at times not always) to make you submit, going both ways, or else one person becomes the doormat.

    • I highly doubt james blunt is able to put you in your place. hahaha.....

    • Lol perhaps not

  • Girls keep choosing macho because we were made the women for a reason. We don't want someone more feminine then us who makes us feel like the man of the relationship. Women want someone who can strong for them and hold us when we cry not the other way around. If we wanted another girlfriend we could go out and get one. We don't want our friendships to be akin to our relationships. Yes, girls do like a little sensitivity but not cry-when-nothing-has-happened-here-you-wear-the-pants type guys. The only reason girls don't admit it in real life is because we don't want to seem shallow and we DO want to be treated with the respect nice guys give us.

  • Vin diesel *drools*

But not eminem, he totally turns me off in like 0.1 seconds flat. (sorry to all the people out there that like eminem)

My boyfriend is in the middle, he's not 'macho' but he's very masculine, and he's also really sweet and says cute things to me. So I have the best of both worlds :D

    • The fact that you think you're a girl makes me happy :) best answer by far!

    • I am a girl, srsly. I used to put a note saying so at the end of all my comments and stuff but I got lazy

    • Oh, I thought you were a gaylord.

  • Vin Diesel and Eminem? Really? Those are your examples of macho guys? You know Vin is gay right? and eminem? seriously? He looks like a 15 year old girl.

What about Clint Eastwood? Robert Redford? Al Pacino? The classic pinnacles of "machismo"

    • I don't know them personally and I highly doubt you'd say that sh*t to vin's face. I referred to vin's role in "2 fast 2 furious". I picked eminem because he loves to humiliate women in general. look at his lyrics. once he said that the more he insults them, the more they love them. I also find it interesting to see how many girls love to nod their heads to "bitch, I'm gonna kill you" and "Now bleed bitch, bleed!" he surely knows how to treat his ex kim. hahahaha.....

    • You forgot Chuck Norris! XD

    • I'm pretty sure I would say that to Vin's face, cause it's not an insult. He just is. And Eminem can talk tough all he wants, he's a poser and a pansy ass little girl.

  • Ah, the extremes...

My first serious boyfriend was very macho and ended up treating me rather poorly, which is probably why my next few boyfriends were pretty sensitive...

And as it is, I'm not a very sensitive girl, so when my boyfriends became clingy, talked about our future together, or would nag me for not caring or calling, or whatever...it got extremely annoying.

Hmm... so if I had to pick...I guess I'd go with a macho guy, though I definitely wouldn't tolerate any BS this time around.

  • sensitive for the LONG term

  • Macho when we're seeing each other, sensitive when we're dating.

  • sensitive guy!

  • I love sensitive guys...macho seems so stereotypical... I can't find the sensitive ones anywhere?!

    • You know why? because 99.9 percent of the girls prefer macho guys. it doesn't pay anymore to be male and sensitive.

    • Lol I would like you, does that help? (Assuming you are sweet and sensitive) ;)

    • I'm either macho nor too sensitive. I'm something in the middle. do you like that?

  • Im attracted to more macho guys but they have to have a sensitive side to them because every girl needs to know that theyre loved :)

  • I would want both :) Good thang my boyfriend is both eh? ;)

  • Personally I like manly men. Sensitivity is what I have girlfriends for. But a lot of times those guys are jerks and if they do really care they never show it. And that's important, how am I supposed to love someone who has never express anything that shows he cares? I like a guy that can hold his own, but let his guard down when it means most.

    • A man child downvoted you.

  • my boyfriend is a total macho but I never really paid much attention until I got to spend time talking to him for work. he's sensitive and sweet in his own macho way to me so I guess sensitive still does it for me.

  • both. We want a guy who is macho, so he can protect us and a sensitive guy so he can show how much he cares! Some girls don't like macho guys, because they have a bad rep of hurting us and always wanting someone better and hotter. In the end we all want to settle down with a sensitive guy!

  • ha vin disel is actually gay.

anywho I like more sensitive types. someone who can protect me but will talk with me too.

    • Lol, you're the second one that thinks vin is gay. he's not gay. this is a rumor. and protect you? protect you from what? from grizzly bears? seriously, we don't live in the stone age anymore. why does every girl talk about protecting all the time? it sounds so retarded.

    • It doesn't sound retarded when a woman say they want someone to protect them. They mean that they want their guy to protect them from psychos, killers, burglars, gangs, thugs,& rapists. Women don't want to always rely on the cops for protection. They also mean protection as in having a guy that is financially stable and help them keep a roof over their head.

  • i prefer sensitive guys. guys who are like me - I'm sensitive even if I act like I'm reserved or quiet sometimes. I like guys who aren't too arrogant because I don't like people who brag about nothing in general.

  • sensitive, I'd end up fighting with a guy who was too macho. I mean, not that I dislike macho-ness, but I find the further up a guy is on the macho scale the less likely he is to take me seriously, and I just can't be with someone who doesn't treat me with respect. Still, girly guys are a bit of a turn off too... if I can't say in the middle, can I say neither?

  • I'd prefer a guy that is mostly "macho" BUT he's gotta have some kind of sensitive side otherwise it wouldn't work out because I'm a bit emotional and a guy that doesn't get it is a waste of my time lol; that'll be trouble.

  • Macho guys def! They are much hotter! And knowing he could stick up for you and is strong is a turn on.

    • Stick up for you? what do you mean? lol, are you talking about street fights? I also think a guy like joe jonas is able to stick up for you (but only verbally). what do you mean by strong? strong character or strong muscles? and why do most girls pretend to hate machos? deep down in their heart they prefer them. are they afraid to admit that they like machos?

    • Lol yeah maybe street fights, just if a guy is ever mean to me he could put the guy in his place lol. I mean strong muscles. I prefer macho guys because I feel safe and protected with them. Sticking up for me verbally is good though-i don't like fighting. I don't know why girls wouldn't admit. The girls I know do.

    • Lol, you are one funny and strange girl! let me tell you this: it's hard to find a boy with shaved legs that is able to defend you in a street fight ;) your choice: shaved legs or tough guys? what do you prefer? hahahaha......

  • I would go out with eminem any day!

    • Haha, you know he hates every women (including his mother)? why do you like a women-hating rapper?

    • He doesn't hate every women. he don't even hate his mom. he just thinks his mom has raised him wrong. he actually has high respect for women. his songs are just trying to attract certain people. it just depends on the song and the cd he makes.

    • I just fu*king love eminem why? because he hates bit*hes

  • Macho guys. I think we look for masculine men because we feel like they can take care of us, I guess.

Let's just say, I want to be the sensitive one it the relationship. I want to feel protected when with a guy, I don't want to feel like I have to protect him.

  • i'm tough so i can't handle delicate things including men hahahah

  • Sensitive! Macho kinda screams 'jerk'. . .

  • A sensitive disguised by macho! In other words, I like a guy who pretends to be macho, but sometimes he slips up and does something really sweet. For example: Jess from Gilmore Girls, or Tommy from the movie Brothers.
